I have a newborn, so if I'm trying to get my destiny fix, it's usually on strikes that I go AFK for a bit if he's crying or whatever. But it's cool cuz RGN never hooks me up lol.

Maybe you shouldn't go into the strike playlist then. It's not fair to the other 2 players who are going to have to take the burden. My advice would be to get a fireteam on from an LFG together so at least they know why you're going AFK. If you're on PS, lmk. I'd be down to run strikes with you.

Notice I said "to get my destiny fix", meaning I only play when I have time to (which is weekends, maybe). I play less because 1) responsibilities as a father 2) not fair for the fireteam to fight alone. But its only for like 2-5mins, depending on what he needs, and I jump back in to the fight. I usually get off right after that strike if my son needs me longer. But when I do play, I destroy everything, so I guess i give the others time to catch up while i change a diaper lol ;)

Way to miss the point.

Don't condone people sitting not helping if able, but understand kids are the most important thing.
-
'Or let other people overcome for you' you mean.
-
I drag people through strikes everyday... Afk... Low light.... Only time I even notice people in a strike is when they make orbs. Otherwise I just kill stuff like usual

Taking the "burden" on a strike playlist is like being the dishwasher at hooters. It's so easy but not fun at all. Having a young child is 100% legitimate excuse for stepping away occasionally without leaving the strike.
-
It's also a good excuse for not entering the strike playlist in the first place.
-
Or its not end game content, if that's how he can enjoy the game so be it. Strikes are easy as pie. Unless someone is chronically afk then don't complain.
-
If you have to jump out for a couple minutes thats fine. Obviously we're talking about when you're absent for a substantial amount of time. And once again, if it isn't so important, then just go run patrol. If your signing up for Vanguard Heroic strikes, have the time to commit.
-
It's not a raid. Having a child hinders your ability to utilize free time. So suggestions such as "play patrol" are sort of ignorant. If you are in orbit and you know you're gonna be out an extended amount of time, yes leave matchmaking. If it's mid strike, do your thing and change that poopy diaper.
-
I'm just gonna let you figure out what 'end game' means on your own.

Not strike playlists that's a fact
