AFKing in STRIKES
Unlocked my quest for the New Monarchy Exotic class item on my Warlock yesterday. Ran my 10 strikes in Heroic and I noticed something. Almost every strike had someone AFK and grab rewards at the end. Some guys were trying to be clever and would scoot forward, shoot, then hide once we engaged the enemy. Heroic strikes aren't ball-busting, but running them with only 2 as opposed to a full team can be painful.
The worst strike I had by far had a guardian named (had to remove name but will post vid tomorrow). If you see him in strikes, just leave. If you see him in crucible, own him. This piece of siht did nothing but tuck himself into corners and shoot only when we were looking. He was completely absent and hiding in a nook in the wall at the boss. Then when the boss died, guess what dropped?
The Imago Loop. For THAT GUY.
I had as many assists as he had kills.(29, I had 139 kills at the end) And he gets the one gun I still haven't managed to get. Bungie, you need to do something to stop people from cruising through strike playlists and reaping the rewards because this is stupid. And it's like this a for almost every strike I join.

I dont think there needs to be less afks just rewards based off of kills assists deaths and damage to boss/ bosses

All they got to do is set it up so people that don't participate in more than 20% of a strike don't get rewards. Then adjust the percentage up as needed.

Been running a few strikes last couple of days and have had to send 4 msgs for people to play or -blam!- off. Had one on omnigul where once at final room both players sat in front room and just shot ads or ran around outside. I took omnigul down to 20% health left and then sent them a msg that he had 20% left and said im not gonna carry them solo. They proceeded to continually die , res , punch me and repeat. Thought stuff them so i sat down and just waited for them to finish him. After about 10 mins they decided to finally get there act together. Dont normally do that but -blam!- me either play the strike or -blam!- off.

I've done every strike alone or with afkers at least once. I love it, I actually enjoy strikes more solo then I do with others

Some guy simply didn't move when I played the Omnigul strike yesterday. He just started behind, shot a few enemies but would wait until we got a checkpoint just to kill a couple of enemies again

Mine isn't a bad thing at all. I joined a friend I saw doing nightfall as soon as I got on. Right when I joined it ended and rewarded me my first 310 invective. Lol. I kind of felt bad for accidentally exploiting their hard work, but whatever.

AFK is simply wrong. Be ready and run the strike from start to finish

4 RepliesI go afk during strikes but only when im trying to get something out of my vault for a few minutes or something. It's annoying when I'm trying to do that and theres always one guy who will melee you a million times because you're not there for the first two minutes.

I completely agree the person with the most kills and or the most damage to the boss should get the better rewards. Or at least have the highest chance at them. I think if that was applied people would try harder and we would do them quickly. It would at least be an incentive.

1 ReplyI usually just don't really care if they go afk the whole time. I just tank the strike regardless. More mobs for me to kill! Whats the point in waiting for or bothering the afker to "wake up" when you can just have fun unloading hell on all the enemies by yourself? Show you're allies that you are better than them ;) #OneManArmyFTW

When I was farming grasp of malok toward end of the month wheb ttk first dropped....I joined so many strikes that would drop me either right at or right before her deathblow scream and id get a legendary engram or some ridiculous shit with no kills or any contribution. Actually got heart of praxic fire from her as well....but I main a titan and only play as a titan. I ended up getting grasp of malok on like the 22nd strike attempt. Dropped me in the strike with her at like 1/4 health...I had armamentarium on tossed 2 lightning grenades and unloaded 4th horseman on her. Got the final deathblow and malok dropped for me. She was my only kill. The 2 other guys were in the 290s and got squat. I was a douche too and sent them a message saying thanks for doing the heavy lifting, I was bored or running the strike for past 2 days
