The taken King "Content"

So over the past couple of Weeks I've been checking the weekly updates for news about the taken king. What I've found makes me very unsatisfied. Bungee says we have to do missions to get exotics, the new subclasses, ect. What this says to me is: "the taken king has so little story (like the 2 other dlc's), so we've had to make everything a mission to try and make it longer. Those fools that play it shouldn't notice that." Now this is just my thoughts, so i might be wrong, but let's just see how long it takes people to just complete the story missions(by that I mean oryx) without doing any exotic missions or anything. The exotics will be like the grind for gjallarhorn in vanilla, husk of the pit when Crota first came out, and of corse the elder cipher for those that could only do 34 Poe. Will bungee keep on screwing us over during year 2? Because so far i say yes. Thanks for reading and feel free to leave a comment.

  • Many people were asking for quest based exiotics so Bungie r just fulfilling per wish. I have many issues with ttk but quest based guns isn't one of them. I'm concerned bout what we as players do when we run out of weapon quests, or we have to wait for 3 months for new content

    • In many of the bethesda games, if you just played the main story it wouldn't be very long; however, there were vast areas to explore and you'd get sidetracked because you spotted something in the distance, or came across a character that could lead you to a multi-stepped mission. One of the problems with Destiny is the segmented missions. Do a little, then go to orbit. Repeat. If there was more exploration, and more organic gameplay situations, story missions wouldn't have to be plentiful.

      • If you play destiny for the story or story missions, you are doing it wrong. While structured like an mmo, it doesn't have the depth of ancillary activities available that other mmo's have. In WoW, you could spend your entire time crafting and get hours of entertainment out of it. Destiny is about endgame activities solely.

      • Thumbs up I doubt anyone has considered that but so true they are going to give us the ultimate let down for 40 dollars...

      • Soon you will be saying what content and you will be even more confused about a story than you already were.

Actually, if you read something besides the weekly updates (I'd recommend the gameinformer interviews) they're doing a lot with the story. -The taken to me make a lot more sense lore wise (if you've read the grimoire, all these enemies have been in our solar system for decades) than it would for some new enemy to come out of nowhere. The taken our enemies Oryx has taken from our solar system, thrown into another dimension and thrown back in under his control. -everything from the PvP maps to the strike bosses have lore behind them in TTK. Dark blade led a civil war against oryx and he was imprisoned in total darkness because of it. -Even your ghost will read off bits of info if you walk up to something and scan it. Overall, TTK is shaping up to have more story than you believe. Hell, it seems like it'll have more story than of vanilla game. As far as the pricing goes, 40$ for this when compared to previous DLCs and even DLCs of other games, it's more than worth the price.

        • And I forgot to mention that budgie said they'd give us a " brand new enemy race". Taking old enemies and reskinning them does not make a new enemy race. It just shows how lazy bungee is nowadays. Putting in as little story as possible and not being bothered to build an actual new race.( again, just my thoughts)

          • Forgot the unfair pricing in my original post as well.
