Lol you do realize all those cut scenes were in game. And dude was just reading his interpretation of grimoire cards.... I'd say the real story looks a lot better than windows movie maker and it lasts much longer than 20 minutes. If this were in game, it would be over as soon as this video was. You're ignorant.

Well, someone has a stick up their arse. Where in the game's cutscenes did they say the whole bit about why the hive insist on using swords even though they have guns? Did you watch the video muted? Anyway, to everyone else what I meant was that I loved the explanations, such as that we are crossing demensions when we go to Crota's End, rather than just going down a freaky tunnel or time travel. Did the author make those up, or are they buried somewhere I haven't seen?
-
It's all in the grimoire
-
Which should've been in game
-
Xbox one and ps4 browser is right the, previous gen would be lacking but that's probably exactly what happened
-
But again it should've been implemented in game. Having to go on a website to read them break immersion.
-
It's a glorified glossary which sometimes only came in a strategy guide or a bestiary from the main menu. The fact that they include dialogue of their handlers or possible origin is for our benefit. There is much to come and there was exotic armor that referred to TDB that was out previously to its release. No people read into and claim cut content and lack of story but if you read my previous post we are the story. There have been few things to happen since the collapse and we have heard about them in game. Now Bungie probably feels they never should have given us that because what seemed like a good idea was lost like many others to the trolls that are sad pathetic people who can only see the negative and it blocks anything positive from giving them satisfaction.
-
Having us as a blank slate does not excuse poor writing. Besides mass effect has tge same system as grimoire card system that details the many races, guns, places, events, and general history. But guess what its in game.
-
Like I've said before, it's not a "blank slate" our guardians have knowledge of everything we have accomplished in game. We know of the collapse, the fallen, give, vex and cabal, the tower, the way the fallen run hierarchy works, who the hive leaders we know of trying to invade earth. Not much about fallen or cabal yet but we haven't played much of their story yet. If we knew what would happen next, there wouldn't be any story. I dont get why people can't comprehend how this game is set up. Or they just can't accept it, which is a loss because they probably think reading a book like mass effect is better than actually unflawed gameplay.
-
Except all the enemies are just "bad" because they are. They dont have unique motives. Its lazy writing. You think Mass Effect is a novel? Why because it actually takes time to establish characters and events that are going on around youre character? You still havent addressesed the issue of why the grimoire was not present in game.
-
I did. If it were in game it would add lengthy dialogue to missions, npcs and cutscenes. Without allows you to thru to only pvp if that's your thing. All enemies are not presumed bad just because. They all have different characteristics and different goals. Cabal are militaristic race hunting vex, vex serve single hive mind that we do not know what that is yet (aka more story), hive are darkness and natural enemy is light (traveler) and are trying to eradicate it, and fallen are another race who it seems like false worship the traveler somehow. They want it but I'm not sure if to destroy or harness power for selves. I got all that from Not read grimoire cards. As for establishing characters. My guardian is me, my personality, talks to other guardians exactly how I do using my mic, he is my avatar to use to fight of enemies in this fictional game called destiny. It all makes sense to someone will to accept it. Dragon age and mass effect suckkkkkkk. If I wanted to read a book and not play a video game I would've bought a book. What was the story for super Mario. I know we save a princess who was kidnapped but that's no story, just like shooting aliens invading our solar system isn't one, right?
-
Edited by Mythic Wyatt: 2/7/2015 11:39:09 AMGames as a medium have evolved passed super Mario. So if you dont want a "novel" why do you defend the grimoires system that much. Also mass effect has the same system as the grimoire in the form of a archive you can access at anytime in game. Besides the dragon age and mass effect games aren't a novel if you appreciate good writing or have an attention span greater than a fly. Apparently you have neither so this argument isnt going to go anywhere.
-
Lol and I said before it's also only been in strategy guides and collectors editions before. It is a bonus for people who need what we play to be written out because they don't have experience with a sci fi story and don't understand terms and concepts. It's completely unnecessary but is a cool extra.
-
Lol "only been in strategy guides and collectors editions"? I guess the elder scrolls, fallout, and souls series dont have lore told without npc's, cutscenes etc. Like i said you sweep aside any game with competent universe building as a "novel" so obviously have no idea what good writing is. Also its becoming more apparent that this argument is not going anywhere.
-
Lol good writing is ff1 -10, elder scrolls doesn't have as much unneeded dialogue that mass effect does, legend of Zelda, gta, red dead redemption, chrono trigger, assassins creed 2 story line, silent hill. But yeah I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree.
-
Wow, they really did screw up hiding all of this then.
-
Edited by O8C7: 2/6/2015 5:32:06 PMNot hiding. Just not in the way for players who don't care to know. (People only want pvp)
-
True, but it's so scattered is hard to tall which ones have plot. Many like septiks prime seem fairly meaningless.
-
He has a place among the fallen. I know it's scattered but I never really liked talking to the 50 npcs in a town for little bits that you put together as well. It also makes the community better and stronger discussing these things kinda like we were the guardians. I like to believe we're playing through our story and we are in a time right after the collapse and in destiny 2 stories will be told of our battle against the darkness and how our triumph has lead to these new events unfolding. All we are are guardians on the eve of a galactic war with no real direction yet because we know little of our enemy but are learning.
-
I would love for them to in the next game talk about the legendary battles we fought. Then I can sit in the back and snicker as they talk about what honorable warriors we all are, as I secretly remember that time in the vault of glass, battling Atheon, while we were all laughing at how two titan bubbles looked like a pair of boobies. Ah, these are the honorable guardians that will go down in history! We are in good hands!
