Triple. A. Title.
Edit #1- Wow I got a ton of feedback from posting this. Glad to see there are so many guardians out there still voicing their opinions. Also, on a side note, I just want to make it clear that I did not create this video.
Lets hope threads like this may change Bungie's strategies for story telling in the future. Although the concept of the Grimoire is a great ADDITION to a story, and unclear narratives can sometimes lead to community driven story telling, I cannot help but feel that the lack of a cohesive story in Destiny is a result of poor planning, budget cuts, or laziness on Bungie's side.
Thanks again for the feedback guardians, keep it coming, and keep your light safe.
Edit #2- Broke 900, soon to be 1000! Lets keep the conversation rolling. Also I would like to address one point.
This video does indeed use information presented in the Grimoire cards. However, the praise I am giving is directed at the way this narrative is PRESENTED by the creator of the video. I feel that the way this information was organized in the video is much more effective than any way it was presented by Bungie themselves. Time and effort was put into the creation of this video to make sure the player understood lore, actual events in game, as well as symbology related to the story that is told. This, in my opinion, seems like a much more caring way to present a narrative.

Old news.

I want more of these.

This was awesome! Great find!
-
Yes because the entire 500 million went to story alone.
-
Very nice. Shows what a truly passionate person can do even with minor tools available.

Still my favorite topic name

Yeah TerraMantis did a great job with that. Nothing got me excited for the crota raid except that :)

Edited by bwerbwerbhb fbfb: 2/6/2015 11:23:29 AM$500 mln budget is for the franchise. But I didn't expect you to know that. It is probably too complicated for you.

Ya but work this into the gameplay and make it flawless.....but only after your lead developer quits and you are pressured by the producers to make your release deadline.
-
I love how destiny has no story but there's enough story for people to write fan fictions create moves and have whole threads speculating on lore. But yeah there's no story guys
-
This is amazing. Good for this kid. Gave more of a background than bungie did. Hire this guy bungie
-
And yet you all still play it and pray to me like a mother f*cker...

You my hero

You kids and your "story". It's no wonder why gaming's going to shit. If I wanted to sit through 20 minutes of narrative I'd watch a TV show or play Metal Gear Solid. There's lore in this game and plenty of it, and I for one love searching for it...piecing things together, speculating what might be...I don't need to have it all spoon fed to me like I'm a baby. Besides, if this were a scene in-game, 95% of you would skip it if you could after the first or second watch of it.
-
Waah Destiny didn't spoon feed me my story

Edited by Dragonmourne: 2/6/2015 4:43:15 PMIt astounds me how inept Bungie is when you put all of this in perspective. Some nobody kid came up with this video with no budget in a basic program that trumps every Destiny presentation Bungie has conducted since E3. As "experienced" and as "great" as Bungie would have us believe they are, and yet they still can't outdo this guy with their millions of dollars worth of resources. Granted, the narrator sounded like a robot throughout the entirety of the video, but that's simply a lack of experience with narration. The video itself was excellent, and was a better comprehensive narrative than anything currently presented in Destiny. Kudos to the creator of the vid. Bungie should be ashamed of themselves, and should wholeheartedly regret letting Joe Statten go.
