Unfortunately my body type is what is described as ectomorph. Which, from what I understand from reading and my own experiences, makes it very hard for me to gain fat or muscle mass. I do go to the gym several times a week (and have been for several years now) but I mostly do anaerobic exercise with the cross trainer.

If you're naturally lean vs. bulky, practice in that. Parkour and freerunning is awesome, I hope to try it out one day.

I'm the same way. I'm not "huge" now by any means but I've seen significant gains. You need to make sure you're eating every 2-3 hours, 5-7 times a day and taking in enough calories.
