This is peripheral and only loosely tied to the OP's thread so I don't want to have a long discussion about DoD, but yes anyone "can" join. But the name itself implies exclusivity and the overwhelming majority of Dads of Destiny's member are dads who play Destiny. The point is that they are targeting a specific group of people and giving them a place to connect. Dames targets a specific group of people and gives them a place to connect. Are people mad that we have male and female restrooms? No, it seems like a ridiculous thing to even bring up, right? But the same principle applies to social spaces. Females interact with males daily, but they should also be able to have a place to be together as women because they are wired differently, think about things differently, they struggle with similar things and can provide support to each other, etc. We don't get mad when girls hang out together and don't invite any men. They're having a ladies' night. No big deal. Dames is that. It's a time and place for some friends to just be ladies together. How the actual frack is that a bad thing?
