Well stated, Belle.
It's amazing what people will do behind the safety and anonymity of the internet. I also don't understand why people criticize the existence of an all females clan either. It's like they assume that the point of the thing is to be exclusive when the goal is quite the opposite. I know you don't play exclusively with females because there are a number of dames on my friends list that I play with regularly. And no one, that I recall, took an issue with the Dads of Destiny clan even though they're an exclusive clan of male fathers or soon to be fathers. These groups aren't about isolating yourselves, it's about generating community and friendships with like minded people. It's about finding something you have in common and generating a relationship through that.
So sorry you had to undergo that kind of abuse, but props for shouldering it well. Wish you all the best down the road.
Edit: To expand on some things, some of the comments really express a distaste for Dames being a ladies only group. Females interact with males daily, but they should also be able to have a place to be together as women because they are wired differently, think about things differently, they struggle with similar things and can provide support to each other, etc. We don't get mad when girls hang out together and don't invite any men. They're having a ladies' night. No big deal. Dames is that. It's a time and place for some friends to just be ladies together. How the actual frack is that a bad thing?

I'm a 52 year old male, no children and soon to be divorced. I look at Dads of Destiny and say, I'm not a dad, why would I want to join? I look at Dames of Destiny and say, I'm not a dame, why would I want to join? There aren't any clans I found that match my demographic exactly but I don't begin to understand why someone would complain about being excluded from a clan with a charter that doesn't match their interests. While I've yet to find any clans that have a no dudes rule, there are 1000's of clans that require approval to join. Any of those clans could and maybe do limit entry on a host of personal reasons. These reasons could be biased or not but the clan gets to decide who joins.

But they do not advertise specifics which is the difference. Look at my other posts, it doesn't bother me what requirements clans have, but to openly advertise sexism seems only acceptable with all female clans!

The idea behind Dads of Destiny is that adult male family men would have a place where they could game together, share stories and experiences, and have a group for likeminded folks who are in the same general season of life. Yeah there are some exceptions, but largely that's what Dod is about.

This is peripheral and only loosely tied to the OP's thread so I don't want to have a long discussion about DoD, but yes anyone "can" join. But the name itself implies exclusivity and the overwhelming majority of Dads of Destiny's member are dads who play Destiny. The point is that they are targeting a specific group of people and giving them a place to connect. Dames targets a specific group of people and gives them a place to connect. Are people mad that we have male and female restrooms? No, it seems like a ridiculous thing to even bring up, right? But the same principle applies to social spaces. Females interact with males daily, but they should also be able to have a place to be together as women because they are wired differently, think about things differently, they struggle with similar things and can provide support to each other, etc. We don't get mad when girls hang out together and don't invite any men. i respect you as a player, i respect you as a person. you seem like an incredibly cool guy. i pretty much strongly disagree with your entire position on what took place. i do not condone the behavior, nor am i trying to make an excuse for it. but honestly man, anyone with even a quarter of a brain knew exactly what would happen if they attempted to do something like what they attempted to do. it was like showing up to a guy's house for a date completely naked and blaming the guy for trying to make it happen. if you go to a lion's den with bait, how can you expect anything other than getting mauled? 99% of the comments were just dumb kids looking for a laugh or attention. none of them were genuinely trying to hurt anyone, nor did they really mean any of that stuff.
