I'm not sure how it's going to work buuut it might work out because of some pics I saw. The weapons went by light level and not actual damage so your weapons might be based off of your level now and not weapon stats. Not sure though

The weapons gives light level instead of attack because it's easier to understand when your weapon maxes out. If you got a 34 light lvl weapon and the mob is 34 you do full damage. If your weapon is 32 light lvl and the mob is 33 you do reduced damage. This is a more simple way than trying to explain to someone what 331 or 365 does to a 32 or 34.

Wait but how does it work when your weapon is higher than both the enemy and your armour but your armour is lower than the enemy? It's already pretty simple how it is

  • Since I haven't been able to try it out yet I can't say for sure but my guess is they separated armor and weapons meaning if you have 33 armor light and 34 weapon light you do max damage to a 34 mob but take increased damage.

Ah makes sense but that completely changes how the game works currently since it works vice versa

  • I guess but that just seems like such an unnecessary change

  • Wouldn't say that. Everything that makes it easier for the average player to understand is a good thing. This is the same reason they are reducing stats. So instead of 272int = 100%, it will will now be 100int = 100%. That way if you get a chest with 17int and 23str you know it's simply 17% and 23%.

  • I guess but that stuff was never complicated to begin with. You just base the percentage off how much it gives you when you switch it. It's just math I guess but that was never complicated either you can just keep switching the gear back and forth as well and find what works and doesn't and just remember the numbers. The whole light level thing is gonna be weird too because we'll have weapons with light level and weapons without light level. Considering what the op said those weapons are getting left behind so they probably won't switch 'em but they easily could and if they do that just means that we'll be able to level the old weapons that the op said is going to be getting left behind. Sorry if I completely neglect everything and just think about your comments it makes sense but my first comment had to do with the ops stuff so yeah
