You people keep quoting grind. You don't know grind. On to my point. When I played everquest, a game which required months to years of constant play early on, I didn't bitch when expansions replaced the weapons/armor I worked so hard for. I didn't complain when my epic fists were replaced by raid weapons. For the record, epic weapons could take months to complete early on when they were introduced. I didn't complain when quested blues outright replaced raid gear in WoW expansions. I won't complain when Destiny does the same thing. Your all free to leave at any time. That, or you can just continue to run VoG for 10 years. I'll go for actual progression.

  • That sounds so boring and tedious. Most hate the hamster wheel.

  • What's the point of continuing to play other than a drive for new gear?

  • This generation? I don't follow you because that's a complicated question. I'll try to answer as best I can. I'm 43. Been gaming since Atari 2600 on and off as a background. I don't know what your suggesting with your comment. I mean, this isn't Mario, galaga, or sonic where your chasing a high score to show off to your friends. There is a whole science behind the hamster wheel, carrot on a stick. Ultimately the game is about progression and your characters relative power. People aren't going to flood to this game and spend money as they have without some perceived reward to accompany the accomplishments of beating a raid. They just won't. So I'm not sure what your suggesting. A quick look at the forums on any given day will reveal a lot of complaints which center on loot and the perceived lack of proper reward. You might want to do it just for fun but most people want some form of payment/reward for completing a task.
