The point is that here are already hundreds of guns available. And there are only a handful of primaries that people use frequently now. If we keep all of these weapons viable, they will be preferred above everything else that comes in the expansion, nullifying the effective new weapons. Plain and simple. If people can use Fatebringer for ten years, they will. If they can't, they have to move on and find new things to use which is better and breeds new diversity which destiny desperately needs.

  • But the reason more people use those handful of primaries is because of balance issues. I have a Galahad-E in storage that used to be one of the best guns I could use in Crucible. As of right now... I'm afraid to use it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if 2.0 really does fix a lot of the balance issues in the game, then more people will be able to go back and use some of their favorite weapons that are currently under-powered. And I can see your point, although it seems like more of a "forced diversity through necessity", rather than just being able to use a plethora of different guns because there are more to use.
