Biased poll is biased
Why is it too much to ask for the guns I love to remain relevant? I will find my own reasons for falling in love with new stuff.
To be forced to abandon my gear won't make me like anything. It will make me bitter about the time I already invested. This lesson has been learned already.
YOU are crazy for thinking that it somehow acceptable for everything we spent hundreds and sometimes thousands of hours acquiring to be rendered useless in future adventures.
Destiny should be increasing the number of options available to players... Not cycling the same number through planned obsolescence. It isn't cool to anyone. Everything that was available once should still be, and new stuff should stand on its own merit.
The only reason why anyone would want this in the first place is because there are already things withheld from them and they see it as unfair.
IMO the "long-term vision" of destiny's weapon system has already collapsed under its own weight. I wish they would abandon it altogether and provide pathways to acquire stuff no longer available in addition to the new stuff.
What's more is Bungie seems to not understand why vault space is a problem.
FEAR
fear of regret, that something I have I might want later, but since I can no longer acquire it it inflates its relative worth and clogs up my vault/ inventory. If I had a reasonable means of getting back something I would not bother hanging on to alot of it.

I raided Ice Crown Citadel so many times in wrath of the lich king for WoW it was mind numbing. There were numerous times I lost the loot roll for a weapon to someone and many more the particular weapon I was looking for didn't even drop. I didn't get the weapon until well after transmog came out for wow years later and could only have my weapon look like the old one, I never got to experience it's strength. This is every week for the entirety that ice crown citadel gear was relevant, over a year and a half, with hours spent in their on 2 separate difficulties each week. You want to cry about this trifle amount of time done each week to get something and not use it? The relevance of a weapon upgrade in wow trumps a gun with a few different perks than others of its kind and basically same dps out by a long shot. Accepting that the old will be irrelevant is logical, not crazy.

What really bothers me everyone looking the same again, everything becoming useless, and thus buy the same stuff only to look the same, can't use previous gear, it's just bullocks if you ask me. I'm hoping all this just doesn't materialise and they work around it, it's a deal breaker with me, what with vault space, and the price alone against already what I've paid.

Their main problem is they seem to be relying on the Shaders to help people feel more unique. The main problems with this system are that 1: Random chances at the majority of shaders rather than being able buy them was a dumb move and 2: They should have made it possible to change the way your gear looks some how. They clearly overlooked the fact that people don't want to look the same with the only way to feel unique being to change the color of armor which most people have the same colors for the most part. I'm hoping the give us gear that makes us max level just like raid gear so their can be a difference, or maybe making the cap 30 and leaving it at 30 and leave light out as a level increase and just increase our natural power and defense.

Lazy. The hope of acquiring something is a cheap self defeating meta. And please explain to me how what you did in World of Warcraft has anything to do with how destiny should progress. You act like your experiences somehow elevate your opinion but if anything its the opposite. Destiny is a chance to do something more, to do something better. That you are already fit to the mold of what has been done in another game (no matter its success/ failure) is insufficient reasoning to justify an outcome where what people have worked for becomes useless. You and I are in the insignificant minority. 90% of the people who play this game simply do not spend the sort of time in games that you are suggesting should be the norm to stay competent in PvE activities. Don't get me wrong, a fresh start is great for someone like me. But my time is becoming less and less available for destiny (the ONLY game I play anymore) When faced with yet another "grind to acquire" after three of the same act walking away looks increasingly easy. Not just because my roster has depleted from people with less fortitude than me already walking away because the grind sucks, but because I'm sick of it myself. Am I the only one/who wants to play just to f*cking play? The idea that the game is all about getting stuff is totally wrong to me. If "become legend" really means "get stuff that will be worthless tomorrow" then I gotta say I'm pretty disappointed. To go through the monumental effort to get something that will end up being a meaningless bauble? No thanks count me out. And if you want to play WoW go play it. This is Destiny, the future of shooters, I am here to become legend not be forgotten.

I can compare it to wow because it is comparable. If become legend meant obtain lot then every person in existence would be a legend. A legend is the stuff stories are made of, great accomplishments, feats of heroism, overcoming hardship and coming out on top. Becoming legend shouldn't have anything to do with loot, it should be the experience. If you are too blind and need to use the same gun for your supposed 10 years, I feel sorry for you. If you leave, good. One less toxic person we have to listen to.

That I could be considered toxic is laughable. The guns and gear in question are the physical tale of those deeds. Not only that but you seem to think I have trouble falling in love with new stuff.... Quite the contrary, I have put away fatebringer, and its replacement. But that decision was MINE to make. I didn't need it anymore. I found something that I love because of its own merits. The problem is not that "I need the same gun for ten years" blablah nonsense your spouting. It's that everything I am doing [url=http://www.example.com]right now[/url] will have been for nothing. I have been going to mercury three times a week for the time trials has been out hoping for a solar jewel that to this day won't drop. The amount of personal time I have invested in this pursuit is irresponsible and borderline reckless. The times I have had looking for this have been great. I've done and seen so much. Learned a lot about myself and a lot about others. Trials is the new raid for me in terms of cooperation. And that jewel will represent all of that to me. But like I already said. I have seen this cycle of grind force people off of my roster, yeah I might not be one of them but you can't say you don't see where I or anyone else is coming from. This is [u]not[/u] World of Warcraft. If that's what Bungie wants it to become then I'm gonna puke. And they can take my gun (that solar jewel I don't have... Yet) when they pry it from my cold dead hands. I won't give it up. I won't give any of them up, not my Praetorian Foil, not my Timurs lash, not my efrideets spear (s) Ever. See you on patrol in 5 years. Unless they shut down support for the original destiny by then.

Idk man, looking forward to whatever they decide. But to be honest I'm most worried about losing friends from them taking what we already have away again. The dark below pushed quite a few of my good buddies away. They have been back a few times but they just don't want to grind it all back up again. I hope for this game...
