You really should get rid of the "real" level 30 thing. I've been here since alpha and had such atrocious drop luck in VoG, I needed IB armor to hit 30. I don't see anything wrong with using in-game armor to gain a higher level. It's like saying using etheric light makes you a "fake" 34.
