Pardon me If God exists, how can any religion other than Christianity have any answers?

  • I believe that there is a higher being (aka God). However I do not believe that God has given us all the answers yet. God has given us some answers, but not all of them. I think God is guiding us along as we mature as a species just as a parent guides a child. And, like most parents, God is keeping some information from us for our own good. I think God wants us to think things out and make discoveries for ourselves rather than strictly follow one specific religion.

  • So, not the Christian God? You'll have to excuse my ignorance. I am genuinely trying to understand

  • It's okay! I wouldn't expect you to understand my beliefs just like that. They're kinda unique. I do kinda believe in the Christian God, but not as most Christians do. I see God as more like a parent guiding our species towards something. I think that the Bible has legitimacy to it, but I also think it has some failings that God wanted to be there. For example, God describes the earth being made in seven days. Now we have science and we have discovered that it took much longer and that there is this thing called "evolution" which describes how the different animals came to be. It is well known that evolution does not line up with the biblical description of the world and this has led to debates and differences of beliefs and stuff. I think that what happened can be compared to a parental situation that many of us have encountered. The child asks "where do babies come from" and the parent comes up with some bogus story about storks or something. For whatever reason, God did not want us to know about evolution then, and God wanted us to discover it for ourselves when we were ready. Well, I have no idea if that made any sense. Hopefully it cleared some stuff up. Or maybe it was just as confusing as before. Sorry, does that make sense? Or should I rephrase it?
