Bungie didn't "forget" to include an option for current players. It's a marketing ploy to encourage players to have the mindset that if they're paying $40 for just the dlc, why not shovel out $80 for all the bells and whistles? The collectors addition is meant for current players who are hooked on the game. Anyone who cares enough to want a hard case and all the stuff inside is already playing destiny, lets face it. Seam like the cost of the dlc is high and the cost of the collectors is low? It's all about marketing. And who can say their marketing plan is if nothing else, genius. Getting thousands if not millions of people to buy the same game twice. And with so many people buying it twice it will surely become one of if not the best selling console game of all time. Which would make for even more advertising and marketing for when destiny 2 drops. I'm not saying its right but hey, it is what it is and we'll all keep buying into it.
