who cares, i guarantee you will be able to earn other exotic class items that are better than the collectors edition ones. the exclusive shaders i can somewhat understand but lets be real, you're not going to wear that shader much longer after the DLC releases. i have the collectors edition of vanilla destiny and i havent used the exclusive emblem/ship since a month after it came out. same with the blacksmith shader that a friend gave to me. and the emotes are kind of a cool idea, but not something to lose sleep over. same reasons why i could care less about the VIP rewards. its a nice little incentive, but if there wasn't one i wouldn't be slightly upset that we, as season pass owners, didnt get anything extra. games do this all the time, especially CoD, where after a year you can scoop up all the DLC for cheap.
