Sword of a God - Part 2

I stumbled forward and fell to my knees, resting myself on the sword. "Tired already?" A voice beckoned behind me. I looked around the chamber, disintegrating bodies of dying thralls and acolytes strewn about. The dead Hive filled the room with their rotting stench and pained cries, enough to make a woman throw up. How many Hive had we massacred? 100? 200? I had lost count. My eyes darted behind me towards the warlock standing at the other end of the room. "You barely killed a few hundred." She chuckled. "Now is no time to rest however, the Swarm princes are coming." Her voice suddenly changing to a tone of fear and urgency. I took a few deep breaths and rose to my feet, cracking my joints in the process. Satisfying. Turning around, my eyes caught the warlock bending low, clutching her head. Her gun lay on the floor beside her, exuding the usual eerie black and green smoke. That weapon always seemed a little odd to me. "My head is killing me! I hate being around the Hive." She moaned. "It's alright, we just have a few Hive princes to brutally eviscerate and we're outta here. With them gone there will be no sword left to slaughter thousands of guardians with!" I replied in hopes of lightening the mood. "Haha too soo-" She suddenly fell on all fours and let out a soft, long groan. "Stoooooop iiiiiiiittttt..." "Woah, hey, you alright?" I said as I began walking over. She started mumbling something to herself. I could barely make out what she was saying. "I can hear them, they speak of him...the song...da-k-st edge...the moo-...of him..lig-t e-ter...c-ota" "Uhhh..? Hey you o-" "THEY'RECOMINGTHEY'RECOMINGTHEY'RECOMINGTHEY'RECOMING" I stepped back startled by her sudden outcry. She continued shouting for a few seconds and then collapsed on the floor. A roar came from the other end of the room just as I was about to run over to her. I quickly spun around scanning the chamber in fear of what made the noise. A black pit of what I could only describe as tar caught my eye. It was spilled across the floor and was rippling. A few moments later the liquid began sloshing about and a large imposing Hive knight, with an equally imposing sword rose from its murky depths. A Swarm Prince. It stood tall, raised its sword and let out another threatening roar. Shit. I didn't have time to tend to the warlock that lay beside me, the prince would not spare me any. I needed to end this quick, too much time and effort had already been wasted in dealing with the hordes of lesser Hive. I held the blade firmly with both my hands and lunged forward towards the Knight. It wasted no time in returning the action and lunged towards me growling loudly with bloodlust. Our blades met in a clash of dark energy, spewing its current everywhere. I jumped away and quickly lifted the sword to jump back and swoop in low. The Knight swung its blade horizontally, narrowly missing my head. In one swift, decisive motion I lopped off one of its legs. It fell to the ground, using the sword as a crutch. It was my victory. I wasted no time and quickly stabbed it, sinking the dark blade deep into its chest. It let out a fading cry of pain as it desperately tried to grab me with its one free arm. Futile. It had no strength left and only flailed its arm weakly at my face. I pulled the blade out and the knight immediately clutched its chest, falling to the floor as it began disintegrating. I stumbled forward and fell to my knees, resting myself on the sword. I'm tired already? I looked around the interior of the chamber. All the dead Hive had disintegrated, save for the freshly killed prince. Their rotting stench still lingered. My head was spinning and my mind losing focus. Suddenly I remembered my companion, lying in the room with me. Was she OK? I must tend to her. I lifted myself and began wobbling to her aid. It was then I heard another roar. ----------------------------------------------------------------- So this is part 2. The first one was pretty well received so I decided to continue with this. I'll link part 1 at the end. I am so sorry for the looooong posts, I'm trying to trim fat off the story wherever I can. Anyway thanks for stopping by and don't forget to like and bump! Also critique is appreciated.
tl;dr kill yourself(sorry tho)
Part - 1 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/113169308/0/0/1
