Devilsblood: Part II, The Kell

Pt II: The Kell Guttural clicks. Predatory growling. The whirring of a motor and the click of a mechanized door. The Hunter’s eyes opened, and he saw what his eyes beheld. He was inside Fallen infrastructure. Of what, he asked his mind. No answer. His thought was instantaneously where his Ghost was. He jerked his head upward, gasping for breath. Even an Exo needed air, the Guardian thought. He heard light rambling of Dregs, and the hushed commands of Captains. He then heard the forceful, immense footfalls of a Fallen of considerable size. He turned his head and saw a gigantic Captain watching him. He instantly identified the Fallen’s unique physique: The Devil Kell. With one arm, the Kell picked up the Hunter by the Torso, and with two arms the Kell held dual shock Blades. The Kell laughed, or what sounded like one, and with its one free arm it grabbed the Hunter’s head, and with one gesture the helm and the head where crushed. He then humphed, and ordered a Dreg to open a small package he held in his arms. The Dreg unrolled a piece of cloth, and out rolled the Hunter’s Ghost. Instantly the Ghost revived the Hunter, and the Hunter landed on his hands and knees, gasping for breath. The Helm rolled away, disfigured and crushed, useless. The Hunter bore a deep black mark over his right eye from one of the Kell’s claws ripping his robotic flesh there, while the Kell crushed the Hunter’s helm and head alike. The Kell reached, and dropping his swords, picked the hunter up by the head with one arm. He held the Ghost in one of his smaller hands, and with a roar, presented his war prize. He then grabbed a shock blade, and with a roar, plunged the searing electric blade into the hunter’s chest, artificial body being dealt a very real wound. Even as the Hunter struggled it was clear the Kell would torture the Hunter, and the Ghost would have to witness it. The Ghost struggled, even begged the Kell to kill him, but the Kell was not so kind. He dug a second blade into the Hunter’s lower back, and the Hunter screamed in muffled pain. The Ghost struggled against the monster’s hand, but it was held firm and without the hand budging. The Fallen, though, seemed disinterested. A Dreg even decided to look at the room’s interior, the bridge and the Kell’s throne of the Sepiks-fel, the Devilship, Ketch of the House of Devils. He looked at the multi-lighted fishnet bags that hung around the room, dozens of lights looking like the eyes of a spider. Something didn’t feel right. He looked to the corner and saw one bag hanging lower, but paid no mind. There was a flash of light, and suddenly the low-hanging bag was different. He then spotted the odd, dark figure in the back with a head that seemed to have a hundred eyes. It was no sac of lights. And then the figure moved.
