About Murphy's law in games

I believe everyone of you have examples when the games uses Murphy's law against you. My worst nightmare for last 4 weeks is the following: I keep doing daily missions with all my 3 characters hoping to get more ascending materials, specifically I need more ascendant energy to level up my weapons. And games consistently rewards me with ascendant shards!!! I hoped the probability is 50% and I would collect enough energy eventually, but the game beats probability. I think in my case I got energy in 15% of cases :-) Do you have good examples when you experienced Murphy's Law in Destiny?
