Crota Guide

Hey Fellow DoD's for those of you that are in the Line app you may be aware I have been posting some videos on all the different sections of the Crota raid. I thought I would post the links in here as well to the videos so that anyone that isn't on Line can also view them and maybe help you with understanding each section and what to do. The first 3 parts (Abyss, Bridge & Thrallway) are all solo. Deathsinger (Ir Yut) and Crota were 3 manned with Dankle and Politcal_Cheese, thanks Gents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r96NJsT5yLY - The Abyss solo. I jumped from the second lamp this can be done on a Warlock and Titan as well it just requires a bit better timing with the weight of darkness tick! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI7a4iqWf8A - The Bridge solo. Here I run to the plate to activate then run up to the centre to down the Swordbearer. I don't need to build the bridge because I just make the jump. You then kill the gatekeeper on the other side with the sword and then proceed to kill Thrall and Acolytes until Ogres spawn. Once Ogres spawn kill both the left and right and this will end the bridge encounter. The same jump can be done on the Titan and Warlock just wait until you hit the peak of your jump before slashing with the sword. There is also a way to build the bridge solo, What you need to do is juggle on and off the plate. You stand on the plate to start building the bridge as soon as the "annihilator totem" debuff comes up you step off, wait till debuff is cleared and then step back on again. This method requires some good timing otherwise the bridge will continue to deform even if you don't have the buff. When doing this method I also complete the jump to the roof to de-spawn the thrall so you're not being hassled by them while the bridge is forming. Once the bridge is built you can down the Swordbearer and then run 3/4 the way across the bridge and jump over the last part which will of started deforming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlJPO0RfHZE - Thrallway Solo. This encounter is fairly straight forward you have to kill Shriekers other wise there is an invisible wall and you can't proceed up the hallway. The first one you can take all the time you need to kill because you can stay in the initial room before the hallway and no thrall will attack you, Where as the second is a bit hectic but can simply be taking down with 1-2 Rockets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaOM2WtKybs - Deathsinger (Ir Yut) 3 manned. This encounter has a little bit going on in the video it was 3 manned but can also be solo'd you just repeat what I did at the start with killing the Wizard and the Shrieker on the right side. The easiest way to kill the Shrieker is to rotate in around the crystal either clockwise or anti what ever floats your boat whilst shooting a rocket at the Shrieker to kill it. Once both Wizards and Shrieker is down, you can sit outside killing Knights and Boomers until Ir Yut starts her eulogy, You can go in and start to down her but it is a lot easier to wait till Eulogy starts because Ir Yut stands still. Once Eulogy starts this is where a lot of people panic thinking they need to rush. You have 30 seconds once Eulogy starts to kill her and she goes down fairly quickly, as you can see in the video it was 7-8 BlackHammer shots. Once Ir Yut is down it is just a matter of cleaning up the Boomers and Knights. It is easiest to rotate outside to a nice spot where you can strafe in and out of cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QWanvHHiac - Crota 3 manned. The video is from the Swordbearers perspective. There are many iterations on downing Crota. You can run left side door and have people down the Boomers so the Swordbearer can jump up the left side to down Crota. You can run the middle strat where you have a Titan drop a bubble to distract the Boomers on what ever side your Swordbearer wants to go up. Personally I like going up the middle and on NM you don't need a Titan distracting Boomers. To runt the middle strat you get everybody to follow you out to the ledge above the doorway where you run out to start the Ir Yut encounter. Once there you wait for the Swordbearer to come out of the door in the middle directly below Crota. When the Swordbearer comes out you down him, pick up the sword and position yourself on the rock in front of the door in the middle below Crota. Once you get to the rock you call for your party to down Crota. As soon as you hear the rockets flying you want to be jumping up so you can be slamming him as soon as the rockets hit, This way you can safely get 4 hits in instead of 3. As a Hunter I run Blinkstrike with Escape Artist (turns you invisible when meleeing a mob) so after my 4th slam on Crota I drop the sword, melee him to go invisible, pick the sword back up, Count to 3 and then call for my team to down Crota again. This way I don't have to jump down or over to the sides. If you are a Titan or Warlock you will simply get your slams on Crota and then slash away to the direction you want to go to hide. Once you down him for the second time you and the rest of your fireteam need to head back inside where you first started the encounter, whilst you wait for Crota to complete his rotation to the middle. When Crota is back in the middle again everyone heads back out to the ledge and you repeat the previous actions to down the Swordbearer and Crota. After your 4th down of Crota if he is not dead you whole Fireteam on NM will need to drop down from the ledge and go into the bottom area to wait for the ogres to come. Kill both ogres and wait for Crota to rotate back to the middle. If you are doing HM instead of dropping down your whole team will need to rotate over to the right side room below the Boomers. Jump up onto some ledges and wait for the ogre to come out of the door quickly down the ogre with Rockets and then watch the door to the middle to down the other Ogre. When both Ogres are down hug the left wall and head back inside to where you downed Ir Yut to wait for Crota to rotate to the middle so you can down him all over again. Hopefully after all of this you kill Crota. On HM once Crota reaches around 25% health he enrages which if you don't get him down in the time left he will wipe the raid. One last thing once the Crota encounter starts if a member of the Fireteam dies Crota summons the Oversoul in the sky which is a big green planet looking thing above his head. At this point all members of your Fireteam must attack it. If you do not kill the Oversoul in time it will wipe your raid team and you will have to start the Crota encounter again. Sorry for the big wall of text, I am sure there are countless spelling errors and grammatical errors in there as well. I hope this helps all the new guys to understand the Crota Raid a bit better!
