Focusing XP on a single item

Leveling weapons and gear can be tricky.. But there are some tricks to getting 'that' gun leveled up quickly, but it'll still take a couple of days and some dedication.. So here's how it goes: First things first - pick a gun, use this gun exclusively until it's done (so long as the situation permits), and focus all xp to that gun when turning in your bounties. [i]Focusing Xp[/i] is the easiest way to level up a weapon and works best if you only choose to level one at a time. When you get all your daily bounties from the bounty bot at the tower, head on out, complete each one and return to the tower with all 6 (or more) completed. Once you're back at the tower before you run over to bounty bot to turn in these completed daily bounties you need to set up your equipped inventory to [i]Focus Xp[/i] on [u]that[/u] one gun you're trying to level up. Here's how you go about it... equip 2 weapons [u]and[/u] a full set of armor that are already max leveled [blue (rare) guns and armor will work for this, as long as they have that yellow border]. Once you've done this, jump to the 'inventory' and activate a telemetry for your weapon of choice (if you have one). Then visit the bounty bot, and turn in all those freshly competed bounties (the more you have, the faster this will go)... This will Focus all earned XP from the bounties to that single weapon (or armor piece) The important part of this is that you want to focus all gained XP to that single item, by making sure the XP is not being spread out to other items. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you, I think you'll be surprised at how quickly it goes when you [i]Focus that Xp[/i].

  • So now that you have changed the way I see gear leveling, I have more questions. How do the grimiore/nightfall/telemetry xp bonuses work? Do they all stack? Does the bonus get applied equally to all gear? Meaning, does the weapon side get half and the armor side get the other...or is it just divided equally to each piece that needs it (up to 7 ways)?

  • Thanks for this post. I just assumed everything got the same amount of XP. I always made a point of having things there were not maxed out in all the slots. I will now make sure the weapon that I want the most will be the only thing getting the XP!!!

  • I guess I have never really thought about this mechanic before. So are you saying that if I have three weapons equipped and all three require leveling...and I turn in a 5000 xp bounty, that xp gets split between the three weapons? And if I have the weapons equipped, but two of them are maxed, then all 5000 xp goes to just the one weapon? I always assumed that 5000 xp went to [u]EACH[/u] weapon/armor that needed it, rather than being divided among all that needed it. I'm gonna have to see what the internets say about this. You are probably right, it wouldn't be the first time I've made an incorrect assumption.
