I've always enjoyed podcasts. There have been a number of community-generated and -oriented publications over the years, like the Bathroom Reader and P7 Podcast, and it might be time to bring one back in the post-Destiny community.
The struggle with podcasts is maintaining a slew of content. Being a continuous idiot with a Mic is not something I want to partake in, and organizing meaningful content regularly is tough and can be dry; a happy medium is my target.
Turning to you guys to discuss, generate, and help me facilitate some ideas. Bonus points for making me laugh in the process.

Some comments on player made championships via skirmish matchups

Edited by Beewaxers: 7/20/2015 2:08:54 PMI think there should be a discussion about bumps and why they are called bumps. I don't get it. Nobody posts on threads or upvotes good stuff by just adding the word bump. I mean, how lazy is that? If anything bumps should be called humps. Or maybe everybody should just decide to say "I agree with this post and it needs to be seen" Hump lump stump trump bump. Yeah, lets make that happen. Or not, whatever.

Progo gave a good idea about fan creations.

Gjallarhorn. Gjallarhorn cake.

We could talk about TFL for several hours.

We can give great praise to the hard work of the individuals in- *gets sniped*

Edited by Progo: 7/13/2015 9:08:57 PMInterview DeeJ, obviously. If that won't work out, you can focus on some fan creations or something, while cracking jokes about the old days and how Ghorn has become the Recon of Destiny. EDIT:
Trends outside of gaming like your cool science stuff and bizarre world events are a good idea. Tie everything in with current gaming news and, of course, Destiny.
-Rellik ^dat shit rite der

Game reviews are always nice, and with the way the medium is, I think they're more than welcome. That's my vote.

Joke of the day, week, whatever. Everybody loves jokes.

I'm not sure to what extent I'd be able to participate, but I'd still like to help out or something. Topics: -General gaming -Convention stuff -Community stories -Old Skool reminiscing -Get people from other Destiny communities on to talk about stuffs
-
I think the core value of the podcast should be that we want to bring the community aspects from the old community into this new one. Here are some things to consider for podcasts: - Destiny news and BWU summary + our thoughts - Community events (both in-game and in real life) - Community history (yes, even Porch Day) - (pulled from Cortana's list) Guest speakers from the outer branches of the community (streamers, YouTubers, etc)

Edited by Mechetti: 7/13/2015 11:50:56 PMWe could discuss the three upcoming conventions, do some game reviews, talk about our most anticipated upcoming games, interview some people, discuss the future of Halo and Destiny, take some questions from Bnet and Twitter, provide a lot of comedic relief, advertise a bunch of community creations and projects, bring back some old projects, brag about accomplishments related to Bungie and Bnet, discuss the future of 7CX, talk about the content in the Bungie Weekly Updatea, and everything DE4TH said. Just spitballing; didn't feel like posting a wall for everything above.

Discussing gaming in general. Such as the sudden ressurgence of the space simulator with games like Elite: Dangerous, Star Citizen, and No Man's Sky taking people back to the days when they wished to be Malcolm Reynolds or Han Solo. (or Bucky O'hare if you're as old as I am). The rise of Mobas and the fall of various gaming entities. Both in a business sense and in a deeply sad sense with the spectre of death constantly reminding us that our greatest minds can be taken away in an instant. Or you could just insult the mythics and their taste in socks. I do wear some pretty fugly socks. . .

I doubt that the older members will be able to charm many of the younger members too listen to a podcast. But, I would say talk about everyone's thoughts about Destiny, their thoughts about Halo, and of course their thoughts on the games coming out. Stuff like that. Oh and puns. Lots and lots of puns.

We could circle jerk and talk about b.old

Edited by relliK42: 7/13/2015 9:06:47 PMTrends outside of gaming like your cool science stuff and bizarre world events are a good idea. Tie everything in with current gaming news and, of course, Destiny. You could honestly have a group of people bs-ing for an hour and people will want to listen due to the dynamic of the group. This brings me to my next point. The style of the podcast must be exciting, funny, interesting etc. People should come in wanting to talk, and they should work well with the overall group.
-
You could talk to/about different community members each time, talk about your own lives outside of b.net (if you do anything interesting), advertise game nights and shit. Do what some youtube guys do; someone starts off by showing everybody a video/link/story, and you give your opinions and reactions. You could play games while the podcast is recording and show the footage for a little bit more entertainment. Give away some of those red bull codes, etc.

I love the Community Humpday Supdate threads as an example of entertaining content. Bunch of different topics, fun, and not entirely dedicated to Destiny.

Edited by Ktan_Dantaktee: 7/13/2015 5:48:04 PMInterview different community members each week/month/whatever the hell kind of schedule these will be on, discuss happenings in the Bungie community and at Bungie itself, discuss Seventh Conflux's game nights and events, ask for and answer questions and stuff, etc. Best way to do Podcasts (in my personal opinion) is to have a general idea for the first conversation, do that, and go on from there. You just gotta wing it.
-
You could do your favorite moments from Destiny. And a roll call of who doesn't have Gjallerhorn yet.
-
Overreact to horror games and make money.
-
P7 Best 7 Live questions. Talk about interesting occurrences on the forums. Complain about non-interesting occurrences on the forums. Throw a coup. Prank DeeJ. Collaborate on some sort of project and let people watch. Speed Bungieball contests. Tell people to listen while driving and play sudden loud police car siren sound effects. Hard core Middle East foreign policy debate.
