Why Islam is such an unstable religion.
This is a repost because the other thread got derailed by falsehoods. The following is why Islam is such an unstable religion:
*Quran believed to contain revelations from God
*Revelations contradict each other, so Muslims are supposed to follow the most recent one, since God's word is law.
*Revelations are not sorted in chronological order or dated.
*any "revelation" can be used to justify violence.
So really, what ISIS is doing, is not Islam extremism, it follows the Quran. The same cannot be said for Christianity and the New Testament. (the old testament is more relevant to Jewish faith, when Jesus came, he corrected the Old Testament's version of God as well as the beliefs it taught.) Violence caused by Christians is violence caused by those who did not align themselves with Christ's message of love. They suspended their religious beliefs.

We are truly lucky that a great chunk of the Muslim culture is illiterate. The actions of violent "radicals" are explicitly commanded of the followers of Allah within their holy texts. It's their "holy crusade" of sorts. *begin rant Ironic that it is often argued that Christians are no better because of the crusades. The crusades were a direct result of the expansion of the Islamic empire. And the justification for such crusades was derived from Roman Catholic values that are in explicit contradiction to scripture. *end rant

It is important to remember that religion is nothing but a tool. It can be used for both good and bad and it's the most effective way to convince someone to blow themselves up. In the case of ISIS it's used as an excuse to do crazy shit and ISIS in itself is a reaction to decades of corrupt leaders who've oppressed people based on their religion.

2 RepliesLiterally just posted this in the other one before it got moved lol ***longish read*** For me Islam is a massively unstable religion, extremists say they follow the Quran, and moderate Muslims do not do enough to counter this extremism. A possible solution is to reform the Quran, was suggested by quilliam foundation (anti extremist group) here in the UK, to take all the hate verses and anti semetic verses out if the Quran. It was met with hostility by many Muslims, but it would bring Islam up to date with the modern world and not be a 6th century which it is according to extremists. Who want to live in a 6th century world but also have all the luxuries of the west (the very thing they hate!), abit hypocritical don't you think? I live in the UK an there is a huge terror threat at the moment ( was a terror plot to bomb my local shopping centre recently, Manchester's Arndale). Not enough is being done to counter terrorism and we will be back in Iraq very soon, but once we've beaten Isis the only way to stop more extremism is for Islam to reform itself. It can then be a stable religion
