Realtime data

I've started periodically polling the platform's different endpoints for character data and pushing changes to a Firebase ([url]https://www.firebase.com/[/url]) db, with the goal of letting clients keep up-to-date state without themselves needing to periodically poll. Before I get too far, is anyone aware of any similar work? And/or is there any other data you'd like to see made available this way?
