Gathering rewards data (loot drop info) historically for an activity - is there an API?

Hey all, First up, thanks very much to Bungie for providing the open API - it's a great way of engaging the community both directly (developers) and indirectly (fans that use the tools developers build off the API). My question is whether it is possible to use the API to find out what loot rewards were during an activity - specifically the raids and the PoE chests. What I would like to do is break down the rewards given to players over a period of time for a particular activity. For example, in the last week the PoE treasure chest (the one that requires the key) for all levels was opened X amount of times. Of these, A% contained exotic gear, B% contained legendary weapons etc. Another example could be that PoE level 32 was completed X amount of times, with etheric light awareded in Y times. These stats could even be broken down further, such as in the A% of exotic gear, A1% consisted of chest pieces etc. Some context - this is for a college project and is inspired by Jalepeno112's excellent report of crucible data. I don't play PvP a whole lot - no word of a (felwinters) lie but I've only earned about 40 crucible marks ever, which is a huge "Thorn" in my side... - but it would be interesting to see just how unlucky I am with the drops I get in PvE ;)

  • This is why I originally started using the API. I wanted to see if there was a pattern to loot drops in Crucible. But sadly, the API doesn't provide drop info. I still think there's a lot of cool Story Mode/PoE data analysis you could do though. One problem with PoE (and raids) is that it can take a very long time, so looking at trends and how they relate to average completion time could be interesting. Does the number of Titans/Warlocks/Hunters make an impact? Legendaries versus Exotics? Does equipping raid gear actually make a difference? Does being friends with everyone in your fireteam help, or can you just hop on with a bunch of randos and do just as well? I think all of these could be done with the current API (except for maybe gear...) but I'm only spit-balling ideas here. Also, glad you liked my report.

  • Greetings, and thanks! Unfortunately, we do not provide that data through the API at this time. :(
