Raven Chronicles: Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2: Beginnings and Ends Sylv - that’s what some of them used to call him. He had never known his purpose, just that he had one. He had been raised by an organization who he knew as the Disciples, though what of remained a mystery to him. They trained him, forged him into the perfect Disciple, taught him every bit of knowledge their order knew, save for the most important parts. He learned magic and blade, fused into one art. Most importantly, he learned souls. The beginning and end of life. He learned of these things, but was forbidden to know of what he excelled at most. Null. At a young age, Sylv had accidentally created something foreign to existence, an anomaly, something that went against every law of soul. An opposite. However, this was quickly covered over. He was not allowed to create, practice, or even know about Null. So his training had gone on. When Sylv had finished his training, they had given him a task and the information to complete it, but none more than that. All he had been told was to seek out the Twilight Valley, follow the Grand Map, and what he would need to get there. That was four years ago. For four years Sylv had wandered the galaxies, following the Grand Map, searching for the pieces. He had seen civilizations, new and old, living and dead. He had fought most everything the universe had to offer, all leading to that lonely temple on Medion-1, where he would find the last piece of the Map. Or so he thought. Instead, he found the end of the line, everything he had searched for for so long, he so found as he opened his eyes. [spoiler]Like I said, today's chapter is a lot shorter than yesterday's one. I like to think it's an interesting on, though, as it provides some backstory.
