latest HotFix, lets Discuss!

I haven't seen much in clan discussion about the things of Destiny, so I just wanted to see how people felt about this in clan. Personally, I love it. The nerf to auto rifles doesn't feel very significant as I still clear ads quite quickly with it, it still does not deal the majority of the damage I deal to bosses (my heavy is what I usually use lol), and I rarely play PvP so my gaming experience saw no negativity for this at all. Shotgun nerf...whatever. I don't use my shotgun like a rifle anyways so the damage at max range doesn't affect this at all. Scout rifle buff...HOLY SHIT. I actually feel a difference now. I pulled out my Cryptic Dragon and shelved my Vanquisher due to the power I now see coming out of it. I am SUPER happy my gun of choice was able to run through Tiger strikes like butter for a change. A+ change here. Hand cannon buff...don't use one....yet. Exotics. I don't have either o the exotics so I cannot rationally discuss the nerfs here. Would like to hear some input on these 2 bits of the fix. Loot Cave...this is still a thing??? I seriously get more engrams and items from "farming" the Tiger strike playlist. In about an hour I get around 8-14 blues and a legendary or two in their. Still haven't pulled an exotic though...sad face. THOUGHTS! Lets here the voices of the 160+ members we have on this.

  • I haven't much used my scout rifle since I picked up Strange Suspect (pulse rifle) but I did pull it out for a headshot bounty last night...the biggest difference seemed to be in damage at range. From what I was seeing it looks like they increased it some without going too far, as I saw increased damage while still needing the same number of shots to take down specific enemies.

  • I use auto rifles a lot - not much of a change in the close to mid range of things but noticeable fall off of damage at distance. Which is good, really. Even as a user, auto rifles did all things too well. Proper nerf. Haven't used a scout rifle yet as I don't really have a good one but eager to try it out. Feels a lot like the DMR in Halo Reach but was definitely lacking punch, especially in Crucible. Don't use shotguns - fusion rifles FTW. As a crucible player, happy to see any drop to shotguns though. Don't really use hand cannons, either. Not my style. Definitely feels like a Crucible patch more than anything. All of the changes, minus the loot cave, was aimed at PvP. I hope they can find a better way to balance things between PvE and PvP but it's still really early.

  • I've been a scout rifle fan for some time now. Auto rifles are fine but I rarely use mine anymore unless I know there will be a lot of adds. Let me add that I, myself am becoming a fusion rifle fan though. They take some getting use to but they have better range than I thought. All in all, no problems here with the patch. My only gripe is that I am getting KTO'd some but hopefully Bungie is working on it. Now where did I leave my Ether Seeds?

  • I mainly use my auto rifle (still a blue) and my heavy machine gun. I have to admit I really haven't noticed a difference with my auto. Based on your feedback though, I may give my scout rifle more play time.

I like the changes over all. I have noticed that the scout rifle does hit harder at range then it used to and there is a considerable damage drop off from my assult rifle at longer ranges. No more Suros Ragime sniper lol. I am interested in the hand cannon damage but I havent gotten a decent one to see or really compare to since I never had anything better a green lol.
