The VoG Fire Team Drinking Challenge

Yeah, Dave definitely gets the MVP slot for our team. Took all the good-natured ribbing we doled out, and gave as good as he got. We did great building the spire. Few deaths, but nothing that "Left lost its plate - both of you drink!" didn't fix! We lined up for the sparrow race to the chest. It was so close that 3-4 of us piled up at one sharp turn and flipped. I happened to be the last back on his sparrow (having been slammed by another sparrow!) and lost the race - "Drink for losing!" The Oracle and Templar fight went smoothly. Again, a few deaths - most notably mine (noticing a pattern here!). I got killed on top of a left block . . . right where the Templar teleported. I tried to convince my Dinklebot to tickle the Templar since we were inside his shield. No go. I tried to convince someone to come revive me - if you're already inside the shield, can you do damage? - but no one wanted to take the risk. So, I had a few drinks as punishment. The jumping maze was fun. Poor Dave couldn't seem to make it. We had to make an exception to the "die = drink" rule, else Dave's tombstone would have read, "Here lies the remains of a man who couldn't make the jump, and had to drink 100 drinks in punishment." By the Atheon fight, we weren't exactly at 100%. I could even see our Guardians were stumbling a little! The fight was easy - but that didn't stop us from wiping fairly often. I can proudly say that not one enemy killed me. Mostly, I fell off the ledges! But, we finally killed Atheon, and had a last round. Definitely have to do this again!

OK, I'm going to be the Rules Enforcer for Team 2. To the best of my ability, that is. I will also be keeping tabs with Team 1. My recommendation - put a straw into whatever you are drinking. Preferably, one of those Mardi Gras cups with a lid (that's what we call them in New Orleans - just any plastic cup with a lid). Why? Because you are going to be drinking FAST. As in, you lose a plate and need to get it back. You have to drink, but that damn Praetorian is still alive. You don't want to be messing around with sipping from a glass Old Fashioned.

For all you Challenge participants here are a few drink recommendations directly from the folks at Bungie... [b]Gjallarhorn[/b] Fill a tumbler glass with your favorite beer, and split a shot of whiskey in to six shot glasses and place them in a cluster around the tumbler. When the beer is empty, down all the shots in rapid succession. [b]Icebreaker[/b] Buy a growler of beer from your favorite local brewery. Every time you take a drink, top the beer off from the growler. [b]Pocket Infinity[/b] Use a smaller glass than normal, but any time you would take more than one drink at once you instead just drain the glass. [b]Dragon's Breath[/b] Replace any alcohol in your drink with fireball whiskey. Caution: may cause regrets. [b]Super Good Advice[/b] Any time you get to select team mates to drink, you may select an additional teammate at the cost of taking a drink yourself. (Taking multiple drinks yourself does let you select more than one bonus target.) [b]No Land Beyond[/b] Between each drink you take, you must do a pushup. [b]Thorn[/b] Pour a double, preferably Jaegermeister. Drink it through a straw. (straw=DOT effect) [b]Hawkmoon:[/b] Pour thirteen shots. Spice 3 of em with everclear. Shuffle.

OK, put me down for the 2nd team. I'll be having rum (Old New Orleans Crystal rum with Sprite, lime and mint - poor-man's mojito).

Ill be the DG (designated gamer)/ alt if you cant fill a team. I will be drinking pepsi straight up or on the rocks. I dont drink alcohol anymore.

This sounds awesome, but apperently I have always played with some drinking rules in place.

Holy crap - you guys will be D-E-A-D before getting to Atheon! I still can't figure out how you are supposed to drink half the time. You'll be in the middle of fighting! Better have a huge Camelback or something ready to go. I predict 12 pee breaks during Atheon.

This sounds like a blast. I was the designated drinker during our last run so this is right up my alley. Unfortunately I'm busy with the wife this Saturday so won't be able to run. Looking forward to hearing about it and maybe we do a repeat the following weekend (3/14)?
