Official League of Legends discussion thread

Thought we could have one, since more members of MBT are starting to play. You know how these things work. For those that don't know or are interested, league of legends is a free online game where you fight in arenas on teams, trying to destroy the enemy base. Its that RTS-styled field of view, but your champion has skills. Its not an RPG, its not an RTS. Its fun. leagueoflegends.com Epic Push in a 4v5 match by Me and Dan and Theo [Edited on 01.14.2012 11:54 AM PST]

Ok, here you guys go. Sorry in advance if some of these things have been said by other people's reviews, I didn't read anyone's reviews except what they said about me. If this doesn't wet your whistle enough, too damn bad. Enjoy. Alec: Best Thing - Can play pretty much any position, and relatively well. You're kinda our 6th man of the team, you step up and play when we are missing someone, which is great to have. You also are well versed in the game and help answer any questions people might have in game. Worst Thing - I sometimes feel you don't play very serious and you like to derp it up a little too much, such as just running in or whatnot. Theo: Best Thing - You are probably the calmest player of our group, which is a good thing. You rarely blame others for deaths or mistakes and you try to keep everyone focused. Worst Thing - Consistency. Consistency. Consistency. One game you will have a great 10/4 game, then you will have a game where you start out 0/4. Suns: Best Thing - Consistency. Although you only play 2 champs mainly, you are very consistent with both of those champs and we can pretty much count on you doing relatively well 90% of our games. Worst Thing - As I mentioned, you really only play 2 champs. I've noticed you are trying to branch out more lately, which is good. Gavin: Best Thing - You really have gotten a good hold on the Support position. You do a great both in bot lane and in mid/late game phase. Worst Thing - You can get kinda angry and rant at others if we get ganked bot. Even if someone misses an MIA call, part of the blame always falls on the lane being ganked for not having good map awareness. You also play slightly worse when you are angry and that can snowball to a worse and worse lane experience. No point in doing Will/New Ortiz/Jank since none of them read this.

Fine, I'll do them soon. But fair warning, since I hate writing and am lazy, my "reviews" will just be short little comments on everyone, saying one thing each person is best at and what each person needs to work on most, from my point of view.

  • I don't know, I just played an intense game with James and we completely carried our team as Galio and Vayne. But yeah, some super intense games were had at IPL5

  • I am rooting for a few different teams. TSM: You just can't not love TSM. They have that charm that you want a team to have. The only problem is they aren't doing the best as of recent. CLG EU: I like their turtle strats, proving to never give up. They also seem to have the best attitudes of any pro teams. Not to mention Froggen is my favourite mid hands down. M5: They have a standard motto that has worked again and again, and they seem to have their -blam!- together the most as far as skill goes. "See champ, kill champ". There are a few other certain players I root for but I gotta say if I could root for one team it would be CLG EU or M5. CLG EU for their attitude and Froggen, and M5 for having the skills and teamfighting prowess.

  • Fnatic for the win. And I have another thing for Suns Suns: One negative is you commonly underestimate your teammates abilities. You play a lot of top lane champs, so you are used to playing the tankiest-steamroll champs the league has to offer like Garen. Then you get upset with a lot of us when we are playing squishier champs and then don't fling ourselves into the fight like you. This also happens with other stats, like when youre a faster champ and you get upset with everyone for not being in the fight as soon as you. For example, you played blitz recently and ran into the whole enemy team by yourself. We were all coming, but we don't all have that W of yours. Positive: Sometimes you are right, and people are playing too safe, too scared and worried. This I agree with

  •
Posted by: Quickstrike NC As for IPL5, it looks like Asian Domination yet again. CLG EU is my only hope right now, and for M5 to battle back from the losers bracket. If I have to cheer for an Asian team, I'll cheer for TPA. What do you guys think is wrong with TSM?
Honestly WE looks like the scariest team in the entire tournament right now. Doesn't help when M5 is a bunch of cocky kids and just hands Misaya TF. TSM is just being dumb too often. They're losing at champion select. For example, Reginald picking Zyra (a champion he doesn't know well, something clear from just watching his last match) into a Katarina is a TERRIBLE idea. Overall they're having pisspoor decision making before the match begins, and it's carrying over into the games.
