I no longer own the very car I based my username off of....

That's right! My 1973 Porsche 914 has changed hands. It's sold.....gone, and I couldn't be happier. I had discovered that it needed new floor pans about a year ago and after digging more into it I decided it was too much. I put it on eBay and craigslist and after a faff it sold finally. I now have some money to put on finishing my Celica and my garage is free to park my Subaru. Life feels pretty decent right about now. Anyway whats up with you guys and cars?

I'm currently rebuilding the front suspension on my 66tbird, full rebuild, upper and lower, bushings, control arms, everything. Had to stop by Larry's Tbird to get an upper right, due to the old bushing being so bad that the threads had worn real bad. Got some of the parts back today that needed an expert press guy to push them in together, should be done by tomorrow afternoon. Had a step back when the previously repaired speedometer started having issues again, and I just got a compmete power window switch housing so I can do the wiring right. A year ago I'd completely removed all the interior, put in leather upholstery over the metal parts and it looked amazing until summer hit. The upholstery glue melted, some pieces expanded in the heat of summer and shrunk again come winter, causing edges to peel and curl. Gonna have to pull all of that out and re-do it, this time using sturdier clips and rivets. After that, I'm replacing the entire fuel system from tank, sending unit, pump, hoses, all the way to the carberator which I'll buy on Vegas because California laws suck ass. Once that's all dialed in, the MSD engine makeover happens, cooling system gets re-vamped, then I'll replace and reseal all the glass before turning to the body and paint. Little things after that, HID headlights, getting LED lighting all around, getting the turn signal to blink sequentially, etc. Making mock ups in Photoshop of a couple color schemes I'm toying with, or just keeping her all black. After she is done, it's time to start my crown Vic project. TL;DR - I'm jealous you got to sell yours lol.
