Evade>Sprint?

I was thinking, could evade have worked better than sprint in Halo 4? I see evade solely as an extension to strafing, which has been a core aspect of halo since CE. Yes, we have the thruster pack, but think what it would be like if there was no sprinting or thruster pack, just a nerfed down version of reach's evade. Would that have been better or worse than what we have now? [spoiler]Sorry, I know these Halo 4 threads are getting real old. But this is a theory i'd rather share with the b-netians.[/spoiler]
