  • I personally have a great deal of disrespect for any developer who makes an unpolished game, ships it, and has to release a update to tweak weapon stats. It's unprofessional; it shows they didn't playtest their own game enough, or weren't truly impartial about some of the issues that affect gameplay in a negative way. I first encountered this with Brink a couple years ago now. A few months after launch, Splash Damage tweaked a number of stats like bloom and damage and really mucked up the game for me. Now 343i, after hanging Halo players out to dry, finally declares their game so borked that they have to dedicate an entire update plus advertising media campaign to fixing those issues to seduce players back? Hope to hell they actually address the real issues. If they don't, they'll implode on their own self-importance as the fanbase abandons them for a developer who can actually make quality games on the first try, listen to their community's reaction, and tweak the game in a meaningful way that doesn't force you to relearn how to play the game all over again. Which is why you, dear reader, and I are here at Bungie, and not Waypoint.
