We had massive problems with virgin media when we first signed up. I kept pestering them and 2 engineer visits later we have a rock solid 60Gbps. Turned out problems were dodgy router (which they replaced), dodgy wiring by guy who installed the system initially and a fault at the local exchange that needed a board to be replaced! Keep pestering them and insist you are not getting what you paid for... N.

    • It's only 30 meg broadband, but has been fine until recently. Have called them, apparently it's a logged problem they are dealing with, and will be sorted by the end of October? Have told them I will see whether it improves,if not then I shall be changing to someone more reliable. In the meantime its destiny as and when I can:-( bloody gutted.

    • If you and your family aren't downloading a bunch of stuff, then it could just be Virgin's traffic shaping being a little too eager. Depending on the package you have, some look a little harsh. Worth a chat with Virgin to see if they can give you any ideas?

    • You must live in a busy area cause my internet never drops like that. What speed should you get

    • If it's your providers speed I think your are out of luck mate - I could be wrong so any tech guys feel free to correct me, but at my last house, I was running around 2 meg, and in order to keep gaming I would make sure anything that didn't need to be turned on, got turned off, phones, ipods even sky boxes these days, it would help a little, you might have to share bandwidth with the neighbours, but not the wife and kids.
