Pray For The Police, PLEASE

Pray? How bout a thumbs up? Yea I'll give the police a thumbs up. At least the ones from my town anyway. In my town it's nothing but black on black. Black on blue and blue on black is rare here. We have a pretty racially diverse town which is why everyone from my city watches the news in disbelief at how -blam!-ing dumb people are and especially those BLM morons lol. Even the black people in my town think most of BLM are ignorant ass -blam!-s with nothing better to do than to bitch and compare their situation to their ancestors. And as far as police go, I have tons of friends that are on the force that have been put in tons of situations like the ones you see on the news and they always find a way out of it without discharging deadly force. My buddy said it best, 99% of police officers are awesome, the one percent that end up on the news for brutality are the ones that got bullied in high school. And that's pretty true because during my time in the military, it was the ones who were bullied or made fun of or had little man syndrome that were always quick to blow their lid and shoot first or swing first. Granted, combat and police officers have different rules and situations but it's almost pretty much the same. You can't jus shoot an afghan because he looked at you funny or didn't move when you said move, or shoot him because you think he has a grenade when he actually has an apple, well not anymore anyway. Jus like in combat, sometimes police officers jus simply get it wrong and that's something the world can live with...an anccident or hell even a lapse in judgment is sometimes forgiven. But negligence is never forgiven and that's something that must be fixed on the communities part and on the officers part as well. But anyways jus thought I'd throw some two cents in there and to reiterate that not all cops are bad. Before I leave I'll give you an example. I had a lapse in judgement one night and decided to drive home after I had had some alcoholic beverages. I made it about 20 feet from my house and another driver hit me. Didn't mess up her car and barely scuffed mine so all was good. When the officer arrived he assessed the damage and gathered our info and proceeded to hand us both tickets. I failed to yield and idk what she did but she got a ticket as well. He told her she could leave and asked me to stay put. In my head I'm thinking " -blam!- me in the ass I'm about to go to jail because he smelled alcohol on my breath and I'm royally -blam!-ed!!!" He comes back to my car and says " son I'm gonna give you one chance and one chance only, if you tell me the truth, I'll let you go since you're not to far from home, if you lie to me, I'll take your ass to jail" My reply was " I had 4 beers and a shot of tequila and im sorry and it won't happen again" He smiled and said "have a good night" I left my care right there on the side of the road and walked the 20 feet to my house. This happened 4 years ago and it was the first time I had ever driven under the influence and haven't done it since then. I see this officer occasionally out in public and he always comes up to me and asks how I'm doing and if I'm behaving. Real nice guy, really cool person to talk to and even to this day I consider myself in his debt because he could have -blam!-ed my life up if he really wanted to instead he gave me a pass so that I could learn from my mistake and I did. I'm grateful he did that for me because had he not done that, I'd be under the impression that I could always get away with it and it would have only been a matter of time before I went to jail for real for being a dumbass. I challenge all of you to find a police officer and tell them thank you. Armed forces are not the only ones that deserve a thank you. Military deploy and are out in the line of fire once every six months for 9 to 12 months depending on the deployment rotation set by your unit. Police officers put their lives on the line every day. Yea some suck but the majority are jus like you and me. I think at least a thank you is in order given the fatality rate for officers these days even if you don't like them, they are doing something most people are afraid to do or not willing to do in the first place.

I guess I'll insert my mini rant as well... First of all, I am a member of the US Military and I have lots of friends earning a living as police officers. I do not think our guns should be taken away plain and simple. It would be ignorant to do so. I will always support my men in blue all the way to the grave, but that doesn't mean I don't think sometimes a cop will make a bad decision sometimes. Now that I have the basics of my stance out of the way... There is no sense in trying to justify whether or not the lives cops have taken were wrong or right. None of us are in their shoes at the time of the incidents. If I'm a cop and I'm attempting to apprehend an individual who fails to comply or is acting suspicious, I'm shooting the moment I see a weapon drawn. White, black, yellow, or purple it does not matter to me, they are getting a bullet coming their way. What I don't like seeing is cops firing 5, 6, 7 and even more shots at near point blank range. I understand the philosophy behind "if you are going to shoot, shoot to kill or don't shoot at all" but guns in the hands of police should be used as a defensive weapon only to stop a violent or potentially violent person. On the other side, wanting to kill police officers just because they wear a badge is ignorant and irrational. It is [b]INHUMANE[/b]! If you are being detained by a cop, there is probably a reason they are doing what they are doing. at the very least, you have given them some sort of suspicion worth looking into. If this happens, all you have to do is comply with them and make it an easy process. If you know you are innocent, you will be justified and released once proven innocent. But refusing to get out of your car when asked or resisting arrest and cursing and yelling... there is no sense in that. Respect the badge! The law is set for a reason and that is to keep citizens safe and the streets clean. There was one video in particular that really pressed my buttons. There was a black male that decided to walk up to a group of cops while recording it on his phone. He threw every cure word in the book at them calling them cowards and power-hungry racists. But the part that really got me was when he called out the black officer and called him a "traitor".... A [b]TRAITOR[/b]! Are you kidding me? For making a career out of protecting and improving his community. By no means am I racist, not a single strand of that runs in my DNA whatsoever. But Black Lives Matter has turned into a hate-group and it destroying our already fragile society as is. People see media and grasp onto it and allow it to fuel a flame that does nothing but burn down bonds nd communities and creates walls and divides. If you think the police are wrong, then join the force and make a difference! Get into the local politics of your town, write letters, spread the word of showing respect instead of hate. Don't go blocking off interstates, yelling and cursing at people, rocking peoples cars, and creating riots. That solves NOTHING. If attention is what you want, you've got it. And I know that not all protestors are extreme or crossing those lines, but what you see in the media is how things are depicted to be nowadays. Now here is where my military rhetoric comes out... Don't go killing the people who are going to protect you when ISIS is right here in your own backyard and those same cops you wanna kill will be the first ones to put their lives in the line of fire while you are running away from the explosions and bombs and terror. I know this is old and stale and I doubt anyone actually takes it seriously, but as Americans we need to rise together, put these dumb conflict aside, and unite as one. A lot easier said than done, I know. Especially with the mess of a government we currently have. But that is a whole different conversation for a different day.

I support the police, but not all of them are these rays of sunshine, I've seen plenty of YouTube videos of people getting guns pointed at them for no reason, as for the prayer thing, this nation doesn't need God, it needs something real to support it, like a good president, which we won't find in Hilary or trump

Does no one understand that prayer takes up to 5-10 minutes (at least for me) out of your day? People are saying go out and do something instead of praying, but you realize you can do both?

Your dad picked a difficult job and I understand the way you feel. The world though is not as bad as it is constantly portrayed in the news and media. Although it doesn't sell as much as grim news, there are a lot of good people and good things happening around us. We should all try to focus on that more. Not everybody prays. How about we make some efforts at the individual level, we try to be good people within our communities, families, and circle of friends. It will make a difference if we all take responsibility for our own actions instead of ranting or taking sides on issues that we're not directly involved with. Good or bad people come from all walks of life. It's impossible to know exactly what happened for any given situation if we were not there. Add the media spreading disinformation left and right... I would rather stay out it. Let's be good to each other, peace ;)
