  • See below as to why saying it's a 50% increase is correct. But if you had 108 spaces and you reduced it to 72, it would be correct to say that the total number of spaces was reduced by a third. So in other words, a 50% increase is the reverse operation of a 33.3% decrease and vice versa. Where do I send the invoice?

  • Wonder why they just don't add 10 or 20 tabs per section and be done with this constant problem of space? Who cares if you like collecting everything or just like using a tiny amount of items. They're like drug dealers, give just enough to keep the addiction strong but not enough to satisfy us for an extended period even after we give them all of our money and time. lol

  • That's not how that statistic is measured. You take the measurement before the change, not after. If you have 2 pages and you're adding one, then 1 is 50% of 2, therefore, we're getting 50% of the space we currently have available added to it. Another way of looking at it is this... if you have 1 page and increase it to 2, then you're increasing the space by 100%, not 50%.

  • The measurement after the change is how you calculate margin on goods. 2 is 66% of 3 therefore 1 is 33%

  • This isn't a margin on goods. It's a linear increase of numbers. 100 to 150 is a 50% increase. That's how the numbers have always been calculated in this context.

  • Did you see my original reply? I couldn't have made that point clearer. I was merely agreeing with you that op is an idiot

  • I saw your reply after I replied to your reply to my reply. lol I'm actually terrible at math, but what I know, I know. It's always weird when someone else doesn't understand something like squaring and I end up explaining it to them, because I'm generally in the position of feeling dumb when it comes to numbers.

  • Please. On these forums? If you know what 2+2 is you're practically Matt Damon from Good Will Hunting

    No, he's right. 2/100% = 3/150% = 50. 2/100% is not equal to 3/133%. (50 vs 44.3) Getchya math straight, boii

  • No. It's a 50% upgrade 2(1.5)=3 Where 2 is the current number of pages 1.5 is the factor based on increase 100% of the original, and 50% increase on the original. What's 150% shown as a decimal? 1.5 And 3 is the resulting value based on the percentage increase. To test: We had 2, we get 3... So. 2(x)=3 Therefore 2=3/x Therefore X=3/2 Therefore X=1.5

  • Can you make a triple integral that gives you the same answer?

  • 72/2=36. 72+36=108 Therefore it's a 50% increase.
