The Frontier: Part Eight - Warzone 2

Second part of Part Eight is here. Sorry again, by the way. Toliks narrowed his eyes. “Not for me? Then it appears we have a common enemy, guardian. I hate the Priest too. I would be willing to bargain with you.” Orion faltered for a moment. Toliks didn't take advantage of it. “A bargain?” Toliks let out a frustrated sigh. “Why must I always repeat myself? Yes, a bargain.” Orion circled the Kell, who never took his eyes off of him. “You are after the Mad Priest and his cronies. I wish to destroy the Priest, he took something from me that meant much to me. Let us make a deal to stop fighting.” Orion laughed bitterly. “You want me to make a bargain with you, a fallen Kell, an enemy of the Last City.” Toliks chuckled. “It sounds like a terrible idea, but you and I both know that the Priest will be a difficult foe to defeat.” Orion shook his head, actually considering it. “You would stab me in the back the first instant you could.” Toliks smirked. “Maybe. But I am more concerned with protecting my house, and truthfully I want nothing to do with you.” Orion quickly turned his back as he heard a skiff booming from Orbit, and more of the House of Winter advancing. “Then why did you kill so many guardians?” Toliks’ smug expression dropped. “They came for me, and hunted me like some legendary beast. I slew them all. And I do not regret it, I care about my house. Why have you killed so many Fallen?” “Fair enough.” Orion said. Toliks dropped his staff a little bit. “And what do you say, guardian?” Orion turned his eyes to a Winter Walker that dropped from the skiff and slammed into the ground with a cloud of dirt. “I would say that we should take care of that Walker, before it takes care of us.” Orion responded. Toliks reactivated his bladestaff. “Agreed.” The walker fired a shot from its main turret, plowing a furrow in the ground and obliterating soldiers of Los Diablos, while other weapons whirred and did the same. Toliks and Orion leapt into action, the Kell sprinting for the Walker, and the Guardian loading his rocket launcher with shells. The Walker’s machine gun spat dozens of rounds per second at Toliks, but with the visor of his helmet pulled down, his rust-red armor held strong. The Kell vaulted on top of the Walker and drove his blade staff between the gaps of its leg armor, conducting Arc energy into the weak point of the machine. The machine staggered, and Orion fired off a rocket from his launcher that made the side of the walker erupt in flame. Toliks roared, a deafening sound that called his own soldiers to battle. Slowly, the Devils rallied. Toliks spun his staff to block the shots that spewed from the guns of the Walker, and cut the tip of the Gun off, disabling it. With a deep growl, the Kell tore the gun from its base and smashed it against the Walker until it was in pieces. Toliks backed off from the Walker, and ordered his crew to fire on the walker, concentrating on the legs and/or weapons. The Walker lurched drunkedly as Scorch cannon rounds, grenades, rockets, shock rounds, and bullets sprayed it, like water from a fire hose, the attack was so intense. When the engine was exposed, Toliks drove the point of his bladestaff into it with the maximum Arc charge on it. He jumped off of the walker as it exploded into a yellow and black sunburst. His Crew cheered, but he looked elsewhere, to the lone guardian standing on top of the Ketch. “Do we have a deal, Guardian?” He bellowed. Orion gave a short nod for an answer, which the Kell almost did not see. Later, Lyla was talking to Orion about the whole thing. “So I killed this big Baron with a Scorch Cannon. Bastard was laughing his head off until I removed it. I still have the Scorch Cannon, actually.” she said casually. “How about you?” Orion shrugged. “Oh, I just made a bargain with a Kell. Nothing big.” Lyla’s eyes widened. “You bargained with a Fallen Kell? THE Kell of the House of Devils? From what you have told me, he is a psychopath.” Orion thought about that too. “Well, maybe I made a bad decision. We decided to not kill each other. I promised.” He was interrupted by a familiar Titan, jogging over to him. “Anibus? What is going on?” the Titan took off his helmet. “Orion, we need to talk.” I hope you enjoyed this looooong episode of The Frontier! Expect an Anibus chapter soon, where Anibus finally meets the supplier of Celsor’s weapons. I really am on a roll with these chapters, hopefully I can keep it up. Toodles!
