Reincarnations ENDING Part 1

Here’s the first part of the ending! Happy Valentine's Day! (This was published on it, I promise.) My next goal is to continue “A Spark of Glory” and then I might move on to a story explaining how the Guardians and House Flame came together. There’s a special thing I have planned for that story, so I hope you enjoy it when it arrives. Also, I know, "Where's the House Kings part?" Well I forgot about that and I was in a rush. A few miles after we refueled, the Fallen found us again. While we were hiding in a building, I noticed something on Axon. It was some type of tracking device, which was what they had used to find us. “Axon, there’s a tracking device on you. Let me take it off,” I said, taking the device off and crushing it. We hid until we noticed they had pikes that were also following us. But instead of the skinnier design, these ones were thicker, as if they were upgraded. I had my wire rifle out, so I prepped it. “Wait. Do you notice that those pikes – tell you how I know the name later - are different?” I asked. Axon looked at them for a moment and said, “Yeah. Take the drivers out so we can steal them.” I drew. I aimed. And I squeezed. The energy beam disintegrated the first driver and disappeared after killing the second. The Fallen immediately swarmed our building. Axon took out his pistol & knife, and side by side, we fought against the onslaught. We took some minor but noticeable damage – a few loose or broken plates and cracks, maybe some loose wiring. “Axon, let’s quickly patch each other up and then prepare. The onslaught won’t end there,” I said. Since this appeared to be a restaurant, there were two broken TV’s, so we took the wiring from that and patched up that. After that, we took some metal from nearby chairs and stools and patched up the breaks as well. About 20 seconds after we finished the repairs, we heard multiple Skiffs dropping in. It sounded like there were 6 or 7, enough for a medium or heavy assault. We ran to the second floor and I perched. Unfortunately, they were smart enough to bring snipers, who bombarded the window to make sure I couldn’t snipe. I also saw that there were at least 20 to 40 Fallen, way more than we could handle. I said, “Axon, this is it. It’s been fun to be with you...” I closed my eyes, ready for the end. Then, all heck broke loose. “FOR THE TRAVELER!” somebody said. Armored humanoids emerged and began attacking the Fallen. They threw grenades that exploded in shades of orange, purple, and an electric blue. Then one of them flew up and launched a large, purple ball of energy that disintegrated the rest of the Fallen. One of them, who was armored heavier than the rest, noticed me and raised their weapon, but another one with robes said, “Don’t shoot! They’re survivors!” The one that had just spoken, who I identified as a woman, looked at me and said, “Come down. It’s safe. We’re with the City and the Traveler.” We walked down and they took a look at us, as if thinking we might be useful. “How did you get here?” said the robed one. I gathered my thought for a few moments, then said, “Oh, just simply woke up in the middle of Old Chicago, rescued my Exo friend here, fought a ton of those aliens, may have killed two of their leaders, and ended up here.” The Warlock cocked her head when I mentioned killing some of their leaders. After I was done speaking, she said, “Come with us to the City. I think the Vanguard will have use of you. Ghost, transmat them up to the ship.” “On it,” said the Ghost. (NolanDroid voice.) A few moments later, we were teleported up to a three-seat ship – the driver and two passengers. Me and Axon went into the passenger seats. The Warlock went to the driver’s, and pressed some buttons, likely a coordinate-setting system since we took off a few seconds after. “How did you manage to kill some of the Fallen’s leaders? And what did they look like?” she asked. I took out the banners I retrieved, along with two nameplates, and said, “I found these on them, and I’d like to keep them. I’ll hand them over to your leaders, however, for inspection. As for how I killed them, the first time we faced off against a larger one, had two metal horns on its helmet sticking up from the top. Didn’t look like he was the leader, but I can’t tell.” The Warlock’s Ghost said, “It was an Archon. To think that survivors could kill an Archon…” I explained, “We may also have taken out another leader. There was one that looked like the biggest four-armed, normal troop, the one that seems to lead squads.” The Warlock then said, “Then you also fought against a Baron. The Vanguard will surely have use for you. Either way, we’re here. Welcome to the Tower.”
