The Dark Guardian - Chapter 4: The Redeemer

5 hours later in the Cosmodrome... "Geez, this place is swarming with guardians." My Ghost said. "They're everywhere!" He wasn't wrong. There are a lot more than usual for some reason... "They're probably guarding something..." Savathun had said in my head. "There are a lot more than usual. Ever since you showed up at the tower, they've sent more guardians to important locations across the solar system!" "Ok I get it, I messed up. Now tell me where the scythe is." I said. "I wanna rest for a little bit." Savathun sighed and spoke. "You need to sense the darkness radiating from it. It's like opening the third eye and looking into the very fabric of existence. Try it!" "Ok Fine! Fine!" I said in a rush. I closed my eyes and tuned everything out. I focused on one thing... the darkness. Forget the light, forget the traveler, forget me... I saw it. Behind the wall where 10 guardians were stationed. A faint darkness. I opened my eyes and got ready to fight. My eyes flared Red and Purple. Darkness started leaking from my hands and arms. "Time to claim my scythe," I said in an unrecognizable dark voice. I jumped up and threw a sword right into a titan. He fell to the ground and didn't get back up. Now I had their attention. Bullets rained on me from all directions. They didn't even touch me. They merely levitated in the air. I felt a smile growing on my face. My left cheek burning with satisfaction. "IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!" I screeched. All of a sudden, and golden gunshot rang out. Missed me only by a hair. "Now this is what I'm talking about," I said with a smile. The shooting stopped... The hunter jumped down from a building and looked me in the eye. His eyes were bright... and mine are as black as the night. "So you're the walker that came into the tower." He said. "There is a bounty on your head for A LOT of glimmer and I'm going to bring your head to the vanguard." The next thing you know, his head was cut off like a piece of paper. He fell to the ground and didn't get up. "What you know about your so-called god is a lie," I spoke. "You're defending a false god that's using you for its own good. The second it gets enough power it will flee and take its power back. So if you don't want to be killed, I advise you to move out the way." The dark light came to started to wrap around me. The fear in the eyes was so great. They scrambled. They ran. They fleed. Like cowards. So weak. "Now... time to claim my scythe," I said. I knocked down the wall that was blocking it to reveal a dark staircase. My feet moved by themselves. Step after step. "My my... That was very good. You managed to scare away guardians. The immortal army of the traveler. Nicely done." Savathun said through my head. "Thanks. I don't even know what happened. I just felt so powerful and in control. It felt amazing." I said. "Man I wanna do that again." I stopped... there was something up ahead. The Scythe... its power is insane. I can feel it pushing me back. It's so thick. I kept moving. It kept on getting harder. But I was drawn towards its dark power. "So this is the scythe..." Ghost said. "It's darkness is so great that I can't even get an accurate measurement." I kept on walking. Its edge was blood red and the staff was just black with darkness. I felt it pulling me in and me getting closer to it. I reached out and touched it... BOOOOOOOMMM I was knocked back into the wall. All the air rushing out of my lungs. The scythe started the glow red and purple... just like my eyes. I stood up and touched it once more... A vision. A little girl laughing and eating and enjoying life. Then another... she was crying, laying over two dead bodies. Gunshot wounds riddled their bodies. Why is this weapon showing me these memories I wished to forget? I felt tears streaking my cheeks. My eyes felt warm and wet. I picked up the scythe and more came flooding through. Emotions that I had lost when I became a guardian. The girl again, flying through the air. She had wings. Wings that are a part of her. I slashed the air with my scythe. One more... this time, with me killing the person who murdered the girl's parents. All of a sudden, I felt something growing out of my back. They ripped through my clothes and spread. Dark wings. This Scythe... had a name. Redeemer. That's its name. I don't know how, but I just know. I gripped my Redeemer tight and started to climb back up the stairs. I'll worry about those memories later. Its Red and Purple colors darkened. I loved the way it looked. Once I was at the top, I was greeted with guardians, aiming their weapons right at me... (Again sorry. I'm not good at ending stories)
