The Path We Choose Ch18: Memories.

The Maverick dropped out of warp over Saturn. Millions of fragments of ice and rock floated among it's rings. Soren-37 directed the ship to enter the rings, as the entire crew gathered on the bridge. They glided past a broken Ceres Galliot ship, and the occasional dead body. The large shape of the Dreadnaught loomed in the distance. "Start scanning for Uldren's ship. He was using a royal Hildian Seeker, so his energy output would be stronger than the others." Geren ordered. "Do you think we'll find anything?" Myra asked as Soren began scanning the debris. "It's been more than a year since he went missing." "We wouldn't be here if I didn't think we would find something." Geren said, an edge to his voice. "I've got something." Soren said. They all crowded in to see. "I found residual traces of radium. It appears to have been leaking from his ship." Soren said. "How do you know it's his ship?" Sully asked. "Only the royal ships use radium in their shielding." Soren replied. "Can you tell what happened?" asked Geren. "I believe so." Soren replied. "I can follow the radiation trail to wherever he went." "So he is still alive?" Myra asked. "It would appear so." Geren said. "But if he's still alive, why hasn't he gone back to the reef?" Moron asked. "Who knows? Maybe he's off somewhere, plotting his return." Geren said. "I got it." Soren said, leaning over the console. "His ship was heading towards mars." "Set a course. We can scan for his ship when we get there." Geren said. The Maverick launched into warp, leaving Saturn and the Dreadnaught behind. Sully and Soren went to the engine room. Sully began checking different systems for any problems, while Soren began recalibrating the control systems. "Do you dream?" Sully asked suddenly. "Wha...what?" Soren asked "Do you dream?" Sully asked again. "I've always wondered if the Exo's can dream." Soren shifted uncomfortably. "Not really. Sometimes I get flashes of memories. Nothing concrete. Just images of faces, places." he said. Sully stared. "Anything else?" he asked. "No." Soren replied quickly. "You're hiding something." Sully said. "What makes you say that?" Soren asked. "Everytime you lie, the light in your jaw flickers. Must be a loose circuit." Sully said. Soren touched his jaw, and sighed. "It's something... Personal." "I understand. But if it becomes important to know, I will find out." Sully said. "Is that a threat?" Soren asked. "Just letting you know." Sully said. He patted Soren on the back, and walked out. Soren watches as he left. Unbidden, the memories resurfaced. Sully's dead eyes, accusing. The entire crew, bloodied, their eyes staring into his soul. Soren shook his head, stumbling back. He stood up, and closed the access panel. He turned and walked out of the room. He needed to think.
