Dragon Riders of Tellaara: Overview.

Dragon Riders of Tellaara. World: A beautiful world with diverse climates and biomes. From the windswept cliffs of Sal ak tor, to the jungles of Rakena, Tellaara is a land full of mystery and intrigue. Vast underground crypts and desert highlands wait to be uncovered. The world is mostly unexplored. Lore: The inhabitants of Tellaara started recording dates about four thousand years ago. The current date is 3579. Between 2985 and 3245 was the Tellaaran War. It it was the largest war in the history of Tellaara. The land was ruled by criminal warbands and gangs. People who weren't part of these gangs were living in poverty and terror. That was when the first ideas of a governmental system was devised. Gathering support, the few people who started this quickly grew to a large army. Now the warbands and the gangs didn't like this. That was when war started. For nearly 300 years the battle was fought. Finally, the war was won. The winners quickly set up a government dedicated to the people, and banished the enemy to the To Ga desert lands. Soon after the Dragon Riders were created to keep the peace. The Eldarans on the winning side however, didn't like the sneaky, underhanded tricks the Humans used during the war. They left for the Sky islands and eventually created the Sky Lords. Airships were invented soon after, making air travel available to everyone, not just the Dragon Riders. Landmarks: Tellaara is a world full of magical locations that just wait to be explored. Mar Reh: The capital city of Tellaara. The largest city in the land. It is full of markets and is the largest trading location on Tellaara. The city is home to the High Council who presides over the Dragon Riders. Sal ak tor: These massive cliffs stand over 11 miles above the ground, making them a popular tourist destination. A large waterfall called"Tarak Sek" drops down the cliff into a lake at the bottom. It is also where the "Sta Pam" rite of passage for initiate Dragon Riders takes place. To Ga: The desert lands are a favorite of outlaws and criminals. They are notorious for the warbands that lie in wait for the right time to destroy the governmental system. The desert is only for the hardest of people, due to the sand wyrms. Del Tak: The capital of the upper lands. The home of the Sky Lords. Only accessible by dragon or by airship. Factions: Many factions exist in the world of Tellaara, fighting for dominance. The High Council: The High Council is the ruling body of the government over Tellaara. They keep the peace through their laws. They also control the Dragon Riders. Characters. Sekar Moro Dentea Mar pel Nori Dir Kela The Dragon Riders: The Dragon Riders are the peace keeping force of Tellaara. When a child reaches ten, they are brought before the High Council and tested to see if they are compatible for the dragons. If so, they leave their home and live at the "Nal Pre Dan", the base of the dragon riders. Here they are taught how to be a Dragon Rider. Combat techniques, survival in the wilderness, and of course, Dragon riding. When they reach their 21st birthday, they bond with a dragon and must undergo the "Sta Pam" rite of passage. The bond between a dragon and its rider is eternal. If a dragon chooses a rider, they are bound for life. When in physical contact, a rider and a dragon share minds. A dragons mind is ruled by pure emotion. It is the task of the rider to suppress some emotions, such as fear, and amplify others, such as bravery and determination. Characters. Kel Pak. Tess Morvo. Ren Tyr. Kerath. Elkelin. The Sky Lords. The Sky Lords are the ruling body of the Eldarans. The Sky Lords prefer to stay out of the affairs of the people on the ground. They live in the glittering cities in the sky. The massive floating islands held aloft by magic are where the Sky Lords live. Characters. Tara el de. Mor yoth. Sym kinter. The Magical Echelon. This group is devoted to maintaining the Magic in Tellaara. It is the belief of the Echelon that Magic is a pure thing, and that to use it is to defile it. The Eldarans are the only race who can connect to the Magic. However they are only allowed to use small bits of magic, and only when in great danger. This usually takes the form of small fire and ice spells. Characters. Ferma. Lek Par. Tyren. The Morgothian Warriors. Located in the Segaren swamps, The Morgoth grow stronger. They are considered a race and are welcomed into society. However many Morgoth shun mixing with other races. They are often used as mercenaries. Races: throughout the world of Tellaara different races exist, some in harmony with each other, and some not. Human: a common human. (I think you know what a human looks like.) Humans are common on Tellaara but a popular theory is that humans are not from Tellaara. Eldaran: almost exactly like a human, but their skin ranges from dark gray to pure white. It depends on the Eldaran. Their ears have a single point on the underside of the ear. (think elf ears but pointing downwards instead of upwards.) The Eldarans are the only race that can connect to the Magic. Morgoth: The Morgoth are a violent race. They are humanoid in shape but their skin is a dark green. They only have four fingers on each hand. They have a set of tusks which curve downward from their head. When they need them, the tusks can extend outward. Nemourans: The Nemourans are fish people. The have the upper body of a humanoid, and the tail of a fish. (they're mermaids.) They are a peaceful race who live in the Arukian Sea. Their capital city is "Lues Ten Kae". Dragons: Dragons are the fiercest of creatures. There are many different breeds of dragons but they all have common attributes, such as wings, tails, armored heads and sharp claws. A wild, un-bonded dragon can live up to 150 years, but bonded dragons die when their counterpart does. Dragon breeds. There are hundreds of dragon breeds, some quiet, some violent. (there are hundreds of dragon breeds but I'm not going to write them here.) Wynden: a very loyal and trustworthy dragon. Description: long head with tapered snout. White horns jut back from head toward wings. Massive bat-like wings. Long tail. Four legs with three toes each. Overview: a dragon meant for agile combat. Very fast and maneuverable. Light on armor and weapons. Krytern: a large brash dragon. Constantly getting into fights it can't win. Description: large head with frills. Large horns sticking up. Large wings with sharp tip. Spiked tail. Heavily armored. Four legged. Can breathe fire. Overview: lumbering dragon meant for brute force. Can carry armor and is well equipped for battle. Chentik: a rare feathered dragon. Often used in races. Description: long snout with feathery horns. Large feathered wings. Long tail with large feathered flap on the end. Four clawed legs. Zyktar: very timid dragon. Has been known to be frightened by it's own shadow. Description: narrow head with short spines. Mid length tail with spines. Only two legs. Front legs are large wings. I hope to write this all. Please let me know any suggestions or constructive criticism you have that could benefit the story. PS: Characters will get bios soon. Probably next week.

  • Dang dood Sounds like a beautiful world full of amazing creatures, magic, and adventures. Can't wait to ruin it all with stupid political conflicts (^•-•^) You've got an amazing layout here Feldspar, I can't wait to see what you do with it and how your characters will interact with all the peoples and creatures of your world
