Destiny: Legend Untold Ch 13 Pt 4

Chapter Thirteen: Pimples, the Acne-Ridden Part Four "Alright," I waved my hands as if putting the name up for display in the air, "Pimples, the Acne-Ridden." Silence followed my suggestion, Sierra and Drew looking back and forth between me and each other a couple times. But after a moment, Drew lost it and broke out laughing. "Genius man, genius!" he exclaimed. "That's actually...not bad," Sierra giggled. "Hilarious!" John shouted, "This is going in the field report!" "Field report!" my eyes snapped over to the doorway leading down towards where the large roar had come from earlier as I was reminded of our mission, "We need to keep moving!" Running through the Hive passageways once more, barely any Hive stood in our path through the last few chambers. We came upon a platform at the end of a hall, the stairs on the right leading somewhere upwards and the stairs on the left leading down to what the Ghosts identified as the Chamber of Night, where the ritual was being held. Another massive roar carried up the stairs, followed by the sound of gunfire from Guardian inventory. It clearly came from the Chamber, but before we could begin our descent the wild shrieking of Thrall reach our ears. They poured down the path on the right, teeth gnashing and claws scrapping. "William, go on down," Sierra ordered, the three of us opening fire on the hoard, "We need you to see what's going on down there, and us two can hold them off." "Okay," I nodded, trusting in their abilities. Feet flying down the steps, I came into the Chamber of Night just as a large object in the center disappeared from view, crystalline white and jagged like a broken piece of glass. Looking to the left, I also caught the vanishing form of a Guardian all too familiar to me. The nameless Guardian had once again outpaced us, and again without even having team support. Rush appeared at my shoulder and began scanning the room. "The Light residue...that must have been a shard of the Traveler that the Hive were using for their ritual!" Rush deduced. "Good thing it's out of their reach now," I agreed with Rush's conclusion. Just as I was about to turn and go help Sierra and Drew, my coms began to crackle so the sounds of my allies' voices and gunfire only came from up the stairs now and not from my helm. "Sierra, Drew, what's up with the channel?" I questioned, but received no response, "Rush, what's happening?" "We just got patched into a different channel. They can't hear you," Rush reported. "Who would put us on a different chann-" I began to ask, but trailed off as a new voice spoke out over the coms. "Someone who wants words with you," the other person, clearly female, answered. "What words? Who are you?" Rush inquired. "No time for questions, little Light," the woman answered quickly, "No time to explain." "Did she just call me what I think she called me?" Rush scoffed. "Will you show yourself?" I risked a question even after her previous statement, turning in a slow circle to peer around the room. "The other one is interesting; the one who just left. Never made it as far as this time," she seemed to speak more to herself than me, "But if he is interesting, you are strange. His path is always the same; same battles, wether he wins or loses. You are always different; different places, different times, different battles. You don't belong almost as much as I don't belong." "Time traveler? Are you a Guardian?" I tried piecing together what this newcomer was. The scuff of feet sounded and someone walked out from behind the pedestal that the shard of the Traveler had been suspended above. She was an Exo, metal frame painted white with blue eye and mouth lighting and very light cloth and armor draped over her. She wore a short cloak with hood up over her head, and a yellow pulse rifle was held in her right hand. "Stranger," she seemed to correct me, and I assumed that was what she wanted me to call her, "Not forged in the Light." "Where are you from?" I pried for more. "Follow him," she moved past my question and gestured towards the spot where I had last seen the nameless Guardian, "Follow him across the system, that may be what we need." "We?" Rush was clearly getting sick of the lack of information she gave us. "There are far worse things out in the dark than what lays down here," the Stranger told us, ignoring Rush, then suddenly looked off to the side and tilted her head down as if listening to someone else, "Understood...yes, right now...he did." Rush hovered a little closer to her while she was still focused on listening. "Why can't I get anything on her other channel?" he wondered aloud. Before he or I could say anything else, the Stranger looked back up to me. "Our paths will cross again...all three of ours," she glanced pointedly back to where the other Guardian had been, "Don't tell your friends." At that, she disappeared in what appeared to be some form of transmat. She didn't have to specify for me to know that I wasn't supposed to tell my friends about the entire encounter. Right at that moment, Sierra and Drew strolled down the stairs to find me. "There you are, why'd you disconnect," Sierra inquired. "Rush and I needed to discuss what we found without yelling over gunfire," I covered quickly and smoothly. "And without Drew's screaming," Sierra muttered. "Art of battle cries," Drew chuckled, "Volume is required." "Oh Traveler, why did it have to be him?" Sierra threw her arms up, then after a moment turned her attention back to me, "So what was down here?" Rush and I glanced at each other, and my Ghost nodded, signaling me to take care of the explanation while he kept thinking. "The Hive had a shard of the Traveler. You-know-who beat us here and stopped the ritual." "Oh great, he gets all the credit again," Sierra groaned. "But we killed stuff, too," Drew whined. "There's one thing he can't take credit for doing," I grinned. "What?" John asked, already seeming to know what I was going to say. I put on the deepest and loudest announcer voice I could and shouted, "Killing Pimples, the Acne-Ridden!" At that, all six of us erupted with laughter, even Sally not being able to hold back a small giggle. But as we laughed and set off back to the Tower, all I could think of was the Stranger and what she had told us. What is waiting out in the Darkness for us? How important could just two Guardians possibly be for the future of the Light? ________________________________________ Well, that's the end of this chapter. Hope you all enjoyed the read, I have big plans for William's future. • I hope they get the credit for something. You-know-who is basically our Guardian, that we play in-game. I didn't know three others were following slowly behind me when I was doing Chamber of Night!
Kek at Drew, he makes me laugh so hard!
