All the things!

Sup everyone, I've decided to put a post together about a few things. Impact Vs Damage, Elemental Damage types, and also a bit about strategies for the first Strike, Devils Layer, and maybe some other odds and ends. So to start, we have the first video I posted. This is taken from DattoDoesDestiny(Whom I will be using for any other youtube clips you see.) and I'm a fan of the way he does his videos. You can see his methods, and he explains everything clearly. But for those who don't want to watch the video, I'll try to give a TL;DR version. In the first video: Destiny Beta: Attack vs. Impact - Weapon Damage Explained he goes over how Impact basically means that a weapon will do more damage. So if you have say, two hand cannons that do the same damage, the one with a higher impact, will do more damage. This is because impact seems to be the stat that determines how much of the enemies defenses your gun bypasses. http://youtu.be/uTLosBMLt3Q?list=UUkmAjbIecTIjTQctolYeuDw Here, we've got the second video. Titled: Destiny Beta: Elemental Weapon Damage (Solar, Arc, Void) Explained TL;DW - If an enemies shield is red(That Wizard Came From The Moon!). Use a weapon with red damage. White, use one with blue, and so on. This will make you do a lot more damage to their sheild. But NOT their red health. http://youtu.be/4RR-EebKLyQ?list=UUkmAjbIecTIjTQctolYeuDw And the third video. Titled: Destiny Beta: Stats Explained - Strength, Discipline, Intellect, Light and Level Cap (For those of you who aren't watching these, if you're wondering why I put the title in :P ) TL;DW - This video isn't really easily summed up. Basically, Strength reduces the cool down on your heavy melee. Discipline reduces the cool down on your grenade, and Intellect reduces the cool down of your Super. Datto goes far more in depth in his video, giving you a much greater understanding of how these stats work and how the numbers add up. I really recommend watching this one, if you don't watch any of the others because knowing this will help you learn what gear is good, and what is bad, and why. http://youtu.be/mHTXJG85eeU?list=UUkmAjbIecTIjTQctolYeuDw Titled:The Devils' Lair Strike Strategy and Speed Run Guide (Full Walkthrough) Datto has another video, titled: Destiny Beta: The Devils' Lair Strike Speed Run (10:49) where you can watch him and his fireteam put those strategies from the first video, to live use. TL;DW - Again, this video isn't really very easy to sum up in a few short sentences. Watch this video if you'd like to learn a few ways to complete the first Strike we seem to get access to. You can completely skip this video. But I personally found it interesting, and it confirmed a few good ways of dealing with the Devil Walker. A good watch if for no other reason. http://youtu.be/vDumLvofnLc?list=UUkmAjbIecTIjTQctolYeuDw This video is not even four minutes. Watch it if you're unsure how to exactly read your motion detector. Spoiler: It shows elevation. TL;DW - This is all visual. You're going to have to watch it. And last, but not least. Here's something cool. If you grab all five of the Golden chests on Earth, the last golden chest you find will have a free speeder for you. An upgraded green. It even looks different based on your class. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eakRwAUprY0&list=UUkmAjbIecTIjTQctolYeuDw Here's a video, again of Datto, showing you where these chests are. Edit: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=123423251&postcount=1459 Raids save at check points so you can come back to it tomorrow and pick up where you left off and can only be completed once a week.
