looking for a clan in ps3

I'm a warlock lvl40, 290 light, without a mic yet, and I have never completed a raid, cause I don't have a clan.

In a similar position...just wandering thru here looking for more Destiny fun than I'm already having...would like to raid but have no mic and no consistent friends (either online or IRL) who play...let's connect y'all! Question: Does one need a mic to raid effectively?
