There's a castle somewhere in Scotland. There's a guard on his nightwatch. He's fairly bored, but it's coming up to sunrise and he relaxes. A few moments later, the sun starts to spill over the mountains and a smile creeps across the guard's face. It never gets old.

Scotland, huh? I get a more Eastern European vibe from this song when I try to imagine a scene, but ironically enough the band is from Portugal. Really like their work, though.

Lol, I dunno. You're probably right. I did quite like this song, too. Thanks for introducing me to them.

No prob, but fair warning, most of their music is more metal with vocals, sometimes quite harsh vocals. The song in the OP is one of the few purely atmospheric songs that they've done. Here's an example of one of their more typical songs. Even when the vocals are clean, singer has a pretty heavy accent. Not sure whether that'd bother you or not.

I'm not typically a fan of harsher vocals, but there's always an exception to the rule. It usually depends on the lyrical content, you know? After listening to the song you just posted, I'd say it doesn't bother me at all. Accents aren't that big of a deal.

Edited by Masque of Night: 2/9/2015 4:24:08 AMI know what you mean, it's hard to enjoy a song if the lyrics are poorly written or just flat out not interesting, especially when they're being growled or screamed at you. I've drifted away from that style of music in my past few years, but there are still a few bands I make exceptions for. But hey, i'm glad I could introduce you to a new band. :)

Yeah, lyrics and themes are a surprisingly large part of my bias in musical opinion. It's also interesting how the opposite of what you said is also true (at least to me) in that lyrics which you can really connect to can draw you into bands and genres you didn't think you'd like.
