Just spend marks, what else are you going to spend them on.

I usually save them for legendary gear to either dismantle into energy or keep since RNGesus hates me :) I just learned that Vanguard points are easier to acquire, since I have always done Crucible bounties I have never been swimming in marks.

Dismantling gear is a waste of marks. If you really need the energy or shards, a VOG hard will let you walk away with between 30-40 shards/energy if you need them. The best way to spend marks, unless you really need new gear is materials.
