Do share, why don't you use them? And I'd rather have more specific reason than "I don't like them" (which is a valid reason ofcourse), because I'm curious why don't you like them.
Thank you!
EDIT: Typo, and thank you for feedback. :p

I actually just picked up 4th horseman last night. I used it for like a minute and It seems to suck ass outside of 2 feet. Guess I haven't really given it a chance though
-
I use my damn sword breaker what u talking bout boi?
-
But I'm always using my shwatgun, it's physically a part of my Titan.
-
I used shot guns for the longest time in pve but I started soloing stuff & needing to be able to kill stuff from far off so I changed my play style from up in yo face to killing stuff from cover.
-
It's not worth using over a sniper or fusion rifle in my opinion. End game content is usually best played from a distance. I might try shotguns after their pve buff, but likely will stick with snipers.
-
Because fusion rifles are like shotguns with range. Much harder to DPS on Strike bosses with shotguns since you'll need to get close and almost all of the bosses have devestating close range attacks. I will use them a lot more with the 2x increase though. The swordbreaker will be my go to gun for Gatekeeper checkpoint in VoG.
-
Because they're crap in pve
-
I use my special weapon against bosses 80% of the time. The ease of sniping adds without having to worry about dying and fusion rifle blasting tougher enemies who would wreck me if I got into usable shotgun range is just better. Bosses usually 1 shot you if you get close enough to hit them effectively with a shotgun. Also, when they multiply the damage by 2, they are FURTHER reducing the shotgun effective range. Shotguns will still only be usable against trash that you can kill faster with your primary. Except for minotaurs. Boy are minotaurs boned.
-
They require you to be too close to a target to really be useful in high end stuff
-
Shotguns are retarded for pve thats why. Who wants to be close to a enemy putting u at increased risk of dieing
-
I am currently.
-
Because I like my fusion rifles
-
I like using the sniper more.
-
Useless. If light switch is on, you're getting swatted before you can put another shell in a big enemy.
-
The only really effective way I've been able to use a shotgun in pve is by using my bubble with helm of saints in the middle of a large group of enemies and mow them down as they attempt to rush me inside my bubble. The problem is that not all enemies will rush you or get up close enough, so it's not the most effective special to use even with the Titan bubble.
-
Bungie is so stupid for not realizing why people dont use shotgun in pve. Because everything worth shooting with a shotgun will one hit ko you in the face if youre that close.
-
Because they have to be so close range, using a shotgun in a nightfall is begging to die.
-
Because sniper and fusion rifle. I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain.
-
one word- light switch. that is all.
-
Because it puts you in harms way. If you run lower level enemies it's fine but enemies melee attacks deal considerable damage. And then you have lightswitch on sometimes as well
-
Edited by Goro: 2/7/2015 6:00:41 PMI love how they look (especially the 4th Horseman) but Lightswitch is nearly always active and bosses nearly kill you with their melee (without Lightswitch). I dont see how Bungie thinks shotguns are useful. They could even take them out of the game and no one would care. Now they nerfed the range of shotguns for PvP and PvE. They will not only become totally obsolete but Bungie made the same mistake again, they nerfed something in PvE for PvP reasons...

Anything that's not a thrall or dregg. Eats a shell then proceeds to punch you in the chest
-
Nexus strike. I get down there fast and introduce those mino to my secret handshake.... i feel bad for them, then I reload.
-
They have the effectiveness of a wet noodle...
-
They are ineffective against majors and ultras. That's it.
-
Shotgun takes focus, there are too many enemies to focus on in PvE
