the situations he laid out in the post are very valid. the DB will beat out the ghorn every time in those cases, trust me i have two of the ghorns.
now going beyond that in PVE, the ghorn is obviously the best weapon in the game.
PVP is a different story, the Truth wins that one

True with the tracking. Still over thorn I don't thin so.

I've got two ghorn's and DB. and yes, there are instances where i'd prefer DB over ghorn. shocking i know, but DB was made for a purpose, and it serves that purpose well.
