I almost agree with the people saying that introducing a new material to the in game economy would falter the plan, but here's a suggestion; instead of using existing material, make a vendor where you can exchange x amount of one for another (for instance, using 5 ascendant shards for one radiant shard) and so on. I say this because you could also use the existing material to upgrade that equipment, then as a currency to buy the upgrade material needed, sort of like needing black wax idols to buy the embalming orb for husk of the pit. Furthermore, this vendor could use the same process for marks, commendations, glimmer, and basic materials, while also having for sale a way to use glimmer to buy certain things. To keep in line with lore, we can put this vendor right next to Master Rahool as this seems like a cryptarc sort of line of duty.
