What Headset to buy?

Hello, Just completet a long post that got lost due to inactivity, sigh. Anyway here is a shorter version of my original post. I have a budget of around 300$, i want the best headset for my money. I have been looking on these different headsets. 1. Astro A50 2. Turtle beach Elite 800 3. Audio Technica ATH-AG1 4. Sony Wireless 2.0 5. Steelseries H Wireless I don't know if the 7.1 surround sound makes a big difference in the game, or if a better sounding 2.0 headset makes up for the lack of surround? Anyway, suggestion please, hopefully from people that have used some of the above mentioned headsets. Thanks.

  • I have a set of Bose headphones and they are incredibly comfortable, have amazing sound, and a built in mic. You can get them for as low as 150, but for 300 you can get a wireless model. Bose are awesome. They don't have all he bells and whistles, but they shine in quality. Go to best buy and try some on.

I got a set of the Sony Pulse Elites just after black Friday and they are awesome. They have the look of vintage stereo headphones, but they are wireless with 7.1 virtual surround sound, 6 sound modes, have a cable to hook them to the controller, and are comfortable to wear for long sessions. They have separate chat and audio sliders, and I have heard the tingly sound of chests and upgrade materials in the background when doing patrols. They have a play time that I have found being fully charged to last for about 10 hours. Got them for $100, but they normally go for about $150. Cheaper than the A50's or most good Turtle Beach sets, and just as good in my opinion.

      • Another thing to consider is if you are gonna be raiding with teams then would you really be using the game audio output along with voice chat? I find that it can drown out people's voices, something to think about!

        • Go to Amazon and look for refurbished Astro A50 Xbox 360. They are on sale for 199.99. They work with PS4, PS3, PC, XBox 360 and XBox One with a simple attachment. The sound literally changed the game for me. 7.1 surround right in your ear is the only way to go!

        • Surround sound helps a lot. I run a set of Turtle Beach X12 with a Dolby Surround Sound 2 processor with Bass Control and it works wonders for me.

          • I'd go with the Audio Technicas since when I had the Astro A50s they were absolute garbage. Audio Technica is a very reliable brand to me and I can't go back to Astro because of it.

Having surround sound isn't necessary as having stereo does a pseudo surround that works just as good. I would personally get the A50's of I had the money
i don't
I have the A40s, which I think are basically the wired version of the A50s. They're really comfy around the ears but after a few hours of constant use they hurt the top of my head, though wearing a hat usually prevents that problem. I think it's just because I've got a really small head so they don't quite fit right. Edit: just bump your post instead of making new ones. You should be able to find it in your activity feed
