Tested on the Arkon Priest i recorded the Dragon's Breath's damage vs the Hunger Of Crota.
Dragon's Breath did 2748 splash damage and 909 on impact and weirdly enough an extra 509 out of nowhere.
Hunger Of Crota did 2546 splash damage and 786 on impact.
Dragon's Breath does solar flare with extra damage doing about 4 or 5 104's every second for 4 seconds.
Hunger Of Crota does drops cluster bombs that immediately did 66, 10 times. Give or take, there are times when nearly none of those cluster bombs hit the initial target.
Hunger Of Crota holds 6 rounds initally.
Dragon's Breath holds 7 rounds initially.
I also noticed a DPS difference between the two. With the Dragon's Breath melting bosses significantly faster due to the extra rocket and higher damage per rocket. However i really liked the tracking on the Hunger Of Crota. But nothing was cooler than stumbling Phogoth, launching all three rockets and just watching his health bar melt.
Worth an exotic slot? Your decision.

Good data my only issue is your comparing an exotic to a legendary if you want to prove its better compare it to Ghorn... Hunger of crota is not going to do more damage than an exotic i bet if you compare hunger to Truth at 331 you'll find truth does more damage than hunger but if you dont have an exotic rocket launcher then the best legendary you can get is hunger of crota.

The extra damage that came from nowhere is from the rocket making contact. Happens with certain grenades too.

I can't remember where the topic was and since I've been searching a while it's lost somewhere. Yet a dude compared DB to Jelly and the dps was slightly larger from db. lol. If I ever find it I'll share.

I recall that thread . The op was hung with his thread. Data seemed legit though and I didn't find it surprising. All exotics are made to be used a certain way, they don't fit all playstyles. Apart from NLB, which doesn't suit anyone's

On a static boss it was like 1% more damage iirc.
